Fair call but I only saw the half time score and then the last quarter unfortunately. Heard Aint Kilda had a bunch of injuries at half time so the dees were always a chance to overrun the saints if they were injury free.

Mal says, bring on the Ashes?????

I said it in the Thomas thread earlier in the year and I'll say it again, when the pressure is on Saint Kilda manufactured leadership doesn't know who to turn to or who should stand up and take the game by the scruff and say "thats it, I'm going to do this".

They have un-natural leaders trying to do the role as they rotate it and it shows.

Leadership at the elite level is bloody difficult and can not be shared around. You pick a leader and stick with it and let others do their role in the team. that is what St kilda struggle with no-one knows who role is who in the team they try to be jack of all trades and but try to share the load. However news flash for you thomas, sport is far more complex than a mangagement text book and what happens in atext book doesn't reflect sporting endeavours.

big difference in the last quarter, melbourne players knew their roles and were well led by neitz, Saint Kilda had no idea about who was going to do what and who was running the sho and who to turn to in the big moments.

Memo to St Kilda pick a leader and stick to, develop some structural roles in your team, your fans deserve it.....

Sport is a war without weapons, how would it be if Britain rotated PM's during WW2. So Winston you had a year, you've withstood the Blitz, Now its time for Atlee to have a go.....

FFS Thomas, you dead set, have no idea.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Very harsh words indeed TASSIE.
They lost because they were crippled, I said at 1/4 time
that SK was in trouble when they were 20 points up.
At 3/4 time I predicted the inevitable.
I made $56 but now I gotta put up with all the shit all week.

MR66 dont give up on our club.
We played in the brisbane heat last week ,
we had 6 blokes incapacitated by 3/4 time
we lost, but we had genuine excuses tonight.
The lads never gave up, the mind was willing the body was not.

I predicted 7 weeks ago that we would collapse in the finals
we played the last 5 weeks at T/DOOM, PERTH, BRISBANE
and our legs were gone tonight.

Off course the resident experts will delight in abusing our club M66
but I will defend on my team.

It could only happen to St.Kilda, and its still no excuse.

Mate, I'll conceed I'm only looking at one factor.

Injuries have been a factor but as head coach Thomas is a factor in that because ultimately he is responsible for the football program and the selection of his staff. However one year is not enough to stamp your mark froma fitness point of view so Starcevich needs a year before he is judged too harshley....

However in big games you need strong leaders and players who are prepared to stand up and "Do something" as John Kennedy would say. That innate leadership can not be rotated or shared. As rrbert Walls said tonight yes they have been un-lucky but equally in the last three years they have been leading in the last quarter of their knock-out finals games.......

To lose lose one of these is unlucky but to lose all three is unforgivable and illustrates a chronic lack of leadership in the playing group.

Clubs who choose a single leader and stick them create a culture of what great leadership is gives the next leaders something to aim for and aspire to e.g. your Voss', HAmil's, Ruccitio's, Buckley's etc. One year is not enough to develop elite leadership capacities for the thoughest field invasion ball game in the world. Why jeopardise a young players development by putting the extra bourdon of leadership on him when he is still learning the caper.

Here's a tip for you Thomas, your two best leaders are Hamill and Harvey.....or if you want to pick one and stick with him for the future a la carlton in 1987 go for Del Santo....

it is time to leave st kilda

and time to leave Thomas, your leadership rotation is a joke, it de-values the role and all current Capt will tell you it takes at least 12 mths to develop in to the role before you start stamping your leadership on the club...

Tactically, ordinary, game plan ordinary, preperation ordinary and the plain simple truth of the matter he has not got the best out of his list
