Bombers kicking 9 goals in the last quarter against the Hawks in 84 and then outdoing it with 11 in the last against the Hawks in 85.
Best moment at one that ive been to was when Wallis ironed out Mil Hanna in 93 and we trounced Carlton

1990 was the first one I watched fully and seeing Collingwood break their drought.

1997 was a fairytale for the Crows, Jarman's last quarter was something to behold.

2002 was the first real exciting one I watched after many duds and blowouts.

2005/2006 - Were close exciting games, two great rivals.

2009 - Redemption for the Cats after 08, classic game.

2010 - The draw was another classic game, Goddard exceptional.

Chocco making a fool of himself... Looked like an idiot.. Always have a chuckle when i see it.
The whole of the 2007 grand final.... and the 2005, except when Ablett kicked across the goal and laced out cousins...
Scarletts toe poke...
shaws smother.... dislike the bloke but that was incredible....
lynch and wakelin punching on...
Carey's 2nd half in 1996

Some of mine were before my time, but still up there with my favourite grand final moments.

- Barry Breens point to give the saints their one and only flag in 66
- Carltons ability to win in 1970 after being 44 points down at half time
- Harmes chasing up his own kick and that infamous tap to Sheldon in the square to snatch victory in 79
- Abletts 9 goals in 89 almost snatching victory for the cats
- Long's dash down the middle of the MCG in 93
- (As much as i detest this)- Jarman's 5 goal last quarter in 97
- The entire 2004 grand final
- Leo Barry's Mark in 2005
- Daniel Chick's smother and shepherd late in 2006, allowing Hunter to kick the winner for west coast
- Cyril Rioli and Stuart Dew with moments of individual brilliance in 2008
- Scarletts toe poke in 2009
- Goddards mark in the 2010 draw

Darren Jarmans snap over the left shoulder with 5 mins to go was my favorite moment. Still have no idea how he ended up with the ball in that contest!

Choco's choking imitation in my opinion showed why Port Adelaide had been feared opposition for a century before hand as it was arrogance @ it's best (I told you I was right). Loved it!

One more thing I loved about Port Adelaide's flag was their families on the ground after the game and that was also against the security procedures. But Port then didnt care because they were Port Adelaide....

On a final note I have always hated Port Adelaide....

Watched 89 and 93 on DVD, Ablett snr was sensational, Michael Long epic.
The Lynch punches in 04 were only overshadowed by Wanganeen's game, 11 years after his last premiership.
05 and 06 I was working in a bottle shop and my Eagles supporting mate gave me minute by minute updates throughout both. Only saw the Barry mark on replay.
07- too pissed by quarter time for an individual moment, but hey in a 119 point thumping it's not that bad.
08- Nothing good
09- Scarlo
10- The draw and a bloke I was watching it with headbutt someone afterwards... Don't remember the replay :partyman:
11- Too old, too slow, too good... Dynasty born. Oh and Tomahawk growing an extra leg!
12- ???

Any post that doesn't mention the 89 GF just isn't worthy and should be deleted by the Mods. There is only one answer

Greatest GF ever, Hawthorn's courage to win with six injured players (read an article about their win five years later in Inside Sport and they would've had to have at least five forced changes if they had to have a replay). Abletts brilliance has been mentioned, Dermie and Yates, Dipper standing his gound whilst he heard Abletts footsteps to take the mark as Ablett made him earn it by breaking his ribs and subsequntly a punctured lung, and in the 1st qtr there is a passage of play by Hawthorn which includes two second efforts by Ayers and Whitman, a mark and handball in the same motion by Buckanara and then a mark to Dunstall who **** up the play by kicking a point. If he kicked a goal it would have rivaled the Donovan/McDermott/Hall/Maynard/Symonds play from the 86 GF as the best passage I've play I've seen in footy.

It beats the recent close Gfs of Sydney/West Coast as they were dour defensive games with zones and numbers behind the ball style of game so it would always be close. This was a shoot-out which had tough play defensive one on one play and finsihed as a 1 kick game.

Classic.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

It's always the 1%er acts that stick in my mind from grand finals.

-Glad someone else remembered D Chick's smother in the 2006 GF that set up WC win.

-Ben Hart's first half against North in the 98 GF. It seemed he was the only Crows defender that North couldn't pass.

-Rioli's 2nd / 3rd efforts on the members wings against 2 Geelong players that got him a free for a holding the ball. Inspirational stuff.

-Yes Harmes..and his kick, chase and then tap in from the Row 5 ;) to Kenny Sheldon for the goal was inspirational but in 82 he did a fantastic job nullifying Kevin Bartlett who was turning the game Richmond's way and to also provide rebound for the Carlton midfield.

-You can't go past Helen D'Amico's efforts in that 82 GF and Doully's response to the attention. Gold!

1990 as the game entered time on in the last quarter, there was a hush around the ground as we knew we'd finally won it.

Glad someone mentioned Stewy Dews effort in that game. His 3 or 4 clutch goals got them over the line

The 3rd Quarter of the 2008 GF send shivers up my spine every time i watch it.....buddy's goal to kick start the run, cyril's tackle on the outer wing and crumb 5 minutes later to which he ran into the open goal, and then there was stewie dew......50 meter bomb sailing through post high off 1 step, his 1,2 exchange taking on 3 cats defenders resulting in a goal to williams, and that left foot snap to finish 10-15 minutes of game winning brilliance for the hawks.

Some new ones that have stuck with me! Others have already mentioned the obvious ones...

2002 – Aker finding space to snap on his left.
2004 – Hardwick sucking in Akermanis & the ball going to the other end for a goal. At the time you felt like Brisbane had all the momentum.
2008 – Stewy Dew proving footy smarts are more important than being an athlete. Still probably didn’t even run over 200m for the quarter! (Had to mention it again!)
2010 – The ball bouncing away from Milne who looked certain for a match winning goal

Agree am. Every time I watched that game I still marvel at Brereton's efforts in the first half, not just the goals he kicked, but a couple of small things too.
Platten says he can't remember anythign about that game. Haven't really been able to find anything on the vision, what actually happened to him?
The 2005 GF was the most boring I can remember, saved by the last few minutes, and Barry's mark.
Goodard's mark, Scarlett's boot, Christensen's mark and subsequent setting up of goal late 3/4 last year are some of my favourites over the last few years.

I really enjoyed the Crows second Premiership in 1998, particularly in 1999 when I was living in Melbourne and working in South Melbourne with a lot of Carlton and Hawthorn supporters. All I had to say to get them going was, "Two in a row!" ;)

Carp. I can honestly say without any hint of bias that the 89 Granny sucked balls.
