Things I learnt in the half of footy I watched last night (the first footy I've watched this summer):

1) Taylor Walker's grown a mullet.
2) The Crows were good but they're going to cause their supporters plenty of heart attacks coming out of defence this season. If they get it right though, they're going to split sides open.
3) The Eagles might be in a bit of strife up forward with LeCras out and Nicoski injured.
4) Natanui still has a lot to learn in regards to imposing himself on the game, along with pack contests.
5) The Crows are going to impose themselves on the opposition this season - they were looking to bump and agitate at every opportunity. If you're a Crows fan you'll be happy to see that.

I enjoyed the Sunday Mail front page photo today. There's Taylor Walker giving Darren Glass the old, "you want some of this, punk", illustrating the new, tougher Crows. An interesting photo to choose, as following that shot, Glass slung Walker aside like a rag doll and walked off like he'd swatted a fly. It was quite amusing to see Walker left scratching on the floor afterwards.

Worsfold was taking the piss surely. He's subbed Kerr and Cox out of the game nice and early and was grinning away as Hill kicked yet another behind. The Eagles looked pretty vulnerable once someone put time into NickNat though but remember their was no Q Stick or Kennedy out there so their traditional big man dominance was diminished.

These two sides could meet again in September.

regards,

REB

It was pretty obvious Walker threw himself on the ground playing for a free kick.

I don't reckon. Neither did the commentators.
I'm pretty certain no footballer wants to lose face and allow themselves to be slung like that for a free kick.
It doesn't fit with the machismo of the game, nor of Walker.
Not from what I've seen, anyway.
