Spot on.
Embarassing that these spuds get an Aussie guernsey.
Picking guys who cant get a kick for their club, what a joke

The only thing worse than watching hacks like Douglas, King & Monfries run around, is seeing us get intimidated by the bloody Irish

Bloody Bernie Vince, the guy couldnt get a bloody kick for Woodville early in the year and now he is representing Australia.
Time to bring back Macca, the only time it was good to watch was when we were punching the crap out of the Irish gits

Agree. Watched some and started to wonder whether there would be any SANFL players that would do just as well in that team. McGuiness, Cross?

I managed 2 minutes but to my amazement my daughter could only manage one half of it.
She'll sit in front of the TV watching South African provincial rugby, darts or anything but couldn't handle watching the whole thing!

I always enjoy watching these games each year. I don't know what people expect from it. It's not footy. It's not supposed to be.

I turned it off after hearing Quarterbrain carry on like a pork chop after Ward accidently kneed an Irish player across the back in a spoil attempt. FFS it happens a dozen times in an AFL game and that peanut went on like it was the most disgraceful thing he'd seen.

I used to enjoy watching it, but unless we get serious about it and actually put some of our stars on the field, then really who cares.

Surely it is SoO or nothing. If it is played in October it gives players a fair bit of time to recover from injuries all except perhaps the knee recon or similar. Dunno about the format? East versus West perhaps?

How many of the Australian players would be in the top 50 AFL players? Maybe James Kelly and Andrew Swallow at a stretch.

The Irish are the biggest sooks going around. They give dirty little cheap shots all game and then try to start a fight when they cop a knee in the back or a late tackle, then they bitch and moan about the physical side of the game. Would of loved to see them get the crap kicked out of them. Piss of back to your crap amateur football and dont come back you Irish gits. Hope the series is dead

From the bits I saw the Aussies knew they couldn't compete skillwise so tried to act like bullies. Our blokes are fully professionals at a game which involves tackling and bumping, the Irish are amatuer players with full time jobs who's natural game doesn't involve bumping and tackling and has less physical contact than even soccer and basketball.
I held my head in shame at the way some of those Aussies carried on with late and high unneccessary hits and was embarassed by it especially considering the fact my kids were watching it and other kids would watch it thinking that way of acting is acceptable.
Like to see the same Aussie team try and take on some rugby or league players in a hybrid game and try the same tactics.
I hope the game never happens again to avoid the embarassment.

It's a bit of an indictment on the 'professional' AFL players with so much time on their hands to hone fitness, skill and mental approach when they can't adapt to beat a bunch of blokes who play for fun, drink heaps of beer and have to hold down a real job during the day.

And as for your argument about loving to have seen the Irish have the crap kicked out of them, from what I saw if the game had degenerated into a full-on fight, the Irish would have won that too. They mightn't have had the same skin fold measurements or suntans as the Aussies but they were tougher men.

Bleh

If Judd, Ablett, Franklin, Natanui, Goodes, Swan, Murphy or Boyd (need I go on) were playing, it might be worth watching. Watching our D grade represent Australia is embarrasing.

I watched a bit of the game and didn't know who half the Aussie players were.
