Mark and Goal of the year

Not only did walker take it on his chest, but once he sat on the guys shoulders it was effectivly an uncontested mark. Krak took a genuine pack grab, in his hands.
Also, Walker's was junk time, Krak did it with the game on the line.

First uncontested mark I've seen on the shoulders of a near 200cm player.
Should've won. Didn't. The awards have been jokes for years. Just another example.

I don't think I've seen any of the marks or goals mentioned, I'll go watch them on Youtube now and get back to you. :)

Both deserving winners. As I said at the time, walkers mark is severly overrated!

Krakeours deserved it without a doubt!

OK, just watched them Walkers is much better than Krakouers and the goal of the year selected was one of the most boring, there was a heap like it, Jarod McVeighs effort was goal of the year for me.

Good to see you offer up some reasons as to why you thought Walker's was better.

Both guys put in good leaps. Krak then held a much tougher grab under pressure.

As for the time of the game, agreed, it shouldn't be a key judging criteria, but IMO it's still relevant.
Far easier to take a risk when there is no consequence for failure.

Well done to jarrod Mcveigh on winning the goal of the year

Easily the stupidest thing I have seen this year:

Aggressively angry facebook groups, laden with expletives, about how bad the AFL is, not having given both awards to Walker and Betts...

trader i never said walkers was a better mark just your way of thinking it was just a chest mark.... as to time in the game i still say first qtr last qtr doesnt matter if you take a hanger weather its under pressure or not its still great.... if we go by your way of thinking then nobody would be allowed to go for a hanger until the last qtr and only if its a close game and your surrounded by 5 other guys....

These 2 awards have had no credibility since Lloyd won goal of the year a few years ago.

Both winners quite underwhelming this year. There was 5 better goals every game than that one.

Goal of the year is too hard.
Should combine them - whoever has the three best goals :D Or something.

MOTY?
Meh.
Walked was high - and that's it. It wasn't "spectacular" apart from the height. How he got there was underwhelming.
I thought there were better marks than Krakouer's though. That was a "Good" mark.

Who got MOTY last year?
I love 'Food and Stuff'. It's where I buy all of my food. And most of my stuff.

Diss, 2010 was Liam Jurrah, Brett Burton in '09, then the Lloyd one in '08.

When he threw it between his legs and back heeled it? What a joke that was. Picked over this one from Motlop.
