The power has too many fickle supporters and cant see many more attending just because they have moved to AO

i guess the 10,000 port supporters were going to travel to melb to see that game, and i think you have missed the point, they believe the crowds will improve but it is all about the revenue that will be generated by the clubs.

No my point was more having a crack at kangaroos. The point is it doesnt matter how close to ground is to the city it wont attract any more supporters. Your president has stated that he thinks your crowd could increase 70% by moving to AO, i reckon you may only get a minimal increase.

I reckon Port games will attract more impartial supporters at the AO, particularly for night games. Not sure if the number will be significant, but I do think there will be an increase.

I think you need to factor in that most Port fans live in the Nor Western suburbs, all of a sudeen instead of travelling 10 mins to the footy they need to travel to town, I think there may actually be a drop off from these fans who cant be stuffed going to the CBD.

True - but they are also have a rail service that would take them to the doorstep of the stadium in a comparable time to parking a car and walking to Footy Park.

I could walk to the Alberton railway station in about 2 minutes. 15-20 on the train, walk to the Oval and then the return leg, depending upon game times and rail times it could be a quick exercise.

How drunk can you be on a train?
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

You only have to be coherent enough to find a seat really.

Same goes for those down south. At the moment they have to sit for a good hour or so on a bus service. Now they can just park the car at Noarlunga Centre and be in the CBD in half hr max.

It's that sort of attitude that makes this place so backward when it comes to sport. Will be the best thing that's happened for sport in SA's history.

Pretty drunk. But best not to advertise the fact. Also, don't have a slash on board because of the cameras. 8)

So it took almost 2 years to put a tunnel under Anzac Highway and they reckon they can rebuilt AO in 2 years for the next Ashes tests. They haven't even got to the tender stage yet. Probably be ready by 2020

Thats a non-negotiable. If it cant be completed in time for ashes then the development wont go ahead. They need an upfront ironclad agreement. I reckon they will get it done.

So Adelaide now has -

A one way expressway, but dont worry it changes directions!
Lets our storm water run out to see but dont worry we get it back with the Desal plant!
lost the Grand Prix, Lost out major golf & tennis event, Lost the Rugby 7's
Cant get a full house when our AFL teams play each other

And now we are building a 3/4 stadium that looks like a toilet seat!

and people think we are progressing.....
