I'll just be glad to get rid of blokes like Walls, Lane and Blight. Although yeah, I've never been a fan of the countdown stopping with 5 minutes to go.

don't celebrate let becasue if the reports in the paper are correct channel seven will have 4 games and foxtel 5 games they might need more commentators and i think blight and walls were once part of the channel seven commentary team.

Not while Dwayne Russell works there. They should replace him with Wayne Schwass who is already on the payroll.

The Fox Footy Channel might get resurrected as well.

A real disappointment that they are pulling out of the coverage. Their AFL coverage, IMHO, is a fair way ahead of their immediate free-to-air competition, and that includes the pre-game and post-game shows, not just the game itself.

They may still be involved, but aren't particularly keen under the new regime

The Herald Sun is reporting the return of an dedicated Footy Channel called Foxtel AFL this is the best news, I put Austar on in May 2006 and by September Fox Footy had been taken off the air but it was seriously the best channel, can't wait to see it return!

If he says "bends it back" one more time whilst the ball is in the air going toward goal - I'll spew out of both nostrils!

I didn't have Foxtel when the Fox footy channel was around. How much different is it to how they do things now? They appear to have daily panel type shows as it is. Did the stand alone Footy station play continuous replays of old games etc?

They played all 8 games from go to wo. There were panel shows, but a really good nightly one with Clinton Grybas. Replays of older games as well from time to time.

Will be interesting to see if this will be a new Channel on Fox Sports or if it will revert back to how it was 2002-2006; Fox 1, Fox 2 and Fox Footy?

Given Fox Sports are kicking in more $$$ this time would not surprise me if this becomes a new channel and there will be 2 sports packages on Fox a basic one and then a premium one which will include fox footy, ESPN2, Speed etc.

if they bring back Winners with Flares, I'll sign up....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
