Juddy for the treble

Being a passionate Blues fan and watching all games in 2010 I picked him for the brownlow in about round 15 and won mega bucks. Well deserved and he will go close barring injury again in 2011. Freak!!! Enough said

Hate the blues and hope they finish bottom 4 but judd is a champ and i had a little bit on him for brownlow last year. Big thankyou to juddy because i used the winnings to purchase my 2 essendon memberships :D

More chance of that happening than Essendon finishing on top :-)

Gun midfield(er). No defense. No forwards. No ruck. May scrap into the 8 again.

Defence....clap.clap.clap.....defence....clap.clap.clap.....

Scrap into the 8. Would rather scrape into the 8.

The Blues play GWS in Canberra in the NAB challenge. Good chance to get our rookies out there.

Thoughts on Matthew Watson? First round draft pick for the blues this year. Key defender should see a lot of game time surely? He can bloody kick a fair way.

Despite the calls for Ratten's head if we'd lost to Richmond - at the moment I'm not concerned. I only realised afterward that we didn't have our first selection at FB, CHB, CHF and FF, as well as losing Waite early on. And we still had 15 more scoring shots than Richmond.

So all is not lost.

I still think we'll be toward the bottom of the top 8. Richmond, well if they can play like they did in the 3rd quarter, they could push 8-12.

Yep, CK. I was surprised that he wasn't selected first game - however I've not taken any notice of pre-season games nor injury list.

Thought Richmond had a real honest go so good to see the Blues stand up and take the points.

Cant believe Judd got 4 votes in the Herald Sun player of the year for the game against Richmond.

7th or 8th if that for the Blues IMO.

Too much to do for Judd, Gibbs and Murphy. Forward line is still ordinary and wont get far until that is sorted.

Ordinary compared to what? We kicked the fourth highest score for the weekend. Last season we had the 5th best attack?

Waite played a half & couldn't come back on due to the crappy concussion rule and our CHF Henderson didn't play. Throw in Kreuzer in 4 weeks time and the forward line is the least of our worries....

Concussion rule is a good one. The "specialists" had it wrong IMO. You can recover enough to pass a test, but is that really what we want. My thoughts are, if you have to be escorted from the ground, then you're probably going to be diagnosed with concussion. IMO too many blokes are making returns to the ground when they have no idea what happened to them (eg J Lewis). Next day they can't even remember the game. You get one brain and it should be looked after - despite your bravado.

Our midfield relies too heavily on one player - and despite it being our strength it's also our weakness. Those days of having one superstar in your side making the difference between a good side and premiership one are long gone.

Kruezer and Henderson will provide much better service than Waite and co but will this forward line win you big finals? I have my doubts,

As for doubts what about your ability to contain key forwards? White got soundly beaten by Jack and Thornton was made to look stupid back there what are your other options?

Top 8 yes, Deep in Sep/Oct? Not for mine.

Watson, Jameson and Bower are our key backman. Setanta and Waite can also play back there. Admittedly Watson is untried, but he'll be around the place this year, 195cm and 100kg CHB from the under 18 comp. Without them we had to have White, Lucas and Thornton as our key backman. Obviously that didn't work so well. The idea was to keep the ball out of their 50, which we did well (69-37).

Agreed. Many players missing. Nearly double the scoring shots. Should have been an easy 10 goal win.
