Did McKernan play much this year? Really had big wraps on this kid.

I think so. I could see him or Talia having a crack at CHB next year. I understand McKernan has been playing off half back for South a bit.

Interesting point about the interchange rule change. This could definitely have an impact on the ruck role. Wouldn't surprise me if we see more ruck 'part timers' next year.

Thats why I see McKernan as a great backup ruckman. He can play KP forward, back and ruck so unless Jacobs is going to take on the no 1 ruck spot and Maric gets moved aside I can't see a place for both Maric and Jacobs.

I have no problems in Adelaide drafting interstate players. Such has been the quantity of SA players going interstate in the last few years that the go home factor goes both ways. Matt Rendells ability to identify Dangerfield, Sloane and Ottens talents shouldnt be compromised by a want for local players. Adelaide has faith in its system to improve players and even if they cannot retain them, they should have an increased market value, ie Tyson Stenglein.

You would have to think that Steingleins football was nowhere near as good at the West Coast Eagles as it was at the Crows. Even Kane Johnson I dont think reached the same heights at Richmond as he did at Adelaide.

I agree mate but we were fairly compensated in both cases after turning both into good players which is a win for the club.

He spent all year down at South IIRC. He got in their best a few times, think they played him as their 2nd ruckman and forward

how tall is he?, i have met him a few times through mates and he doesnt seem to be anywere near tall enough to be an AFL ruckman, i would think he would be more suited to a half back flank CHB, maybe im wrong though

He is Only 196cm so your right, not as tall as some, but probably the right height for a backup ruckman with the new interchange rule coming in.
