Do Channel 7 actually care about showing AFL games??

It's pretty disgusting..
In an era where they are advertising/protesting to keep sport on Free to Air TV they continue to let the viewers down

Channel 7 show Better Home and Gardens instead of the footy live, Sunday games delayed.

Channel 9 continue to show the news at 6 in Adelaide meaning the first 10 overs of the chase in ODI, the most exciting part of the game, are missed.

What a joke! Why doesnt the AFL take a stand and insist its written in that Friday Night games are shown live in ADL, PERTH, etc instead of just filling its own pockets

7 used to show them live on their PAY TV channel C7 circa 1999 - 2001.

If the games are shown live in Perth that would mean the start time over there would be 5:40pm for a game played in Melbourne at 7:40pm. That would be stupid as most people wouldn't even be home from work at that time. I can understand why they're not shown live in Perth.
Live to Adelaide makes sense though.

These are two situations of more absolute pet hates  .

Firstly who watches that better homes and gardens carp?, it's just a waste of space where the football should be. And on the cricket and channel 9, why the can't they play the news at 5:30 so then we can see the cricket from the start?, is the world going to end or something if the news isn't played at 6? This is happened for years now and channel 9 still haven't worked out that there's a cricket match on that people are wanting to watch. Surely they can adjust accordingly.

Another farcical Sunday. No football on FTA until 4.30pm. Meanwhile there is a cracker game being played out at SS.

I could be wrong, but I don't think there is ANY FTA footy in Melbourne today! Only Sydney and Adelaide are getting FTA games.

It obviously stems from the Monday night game, but still frustrating.

I've just been over to the ACT and my mate who has Foxtel, pretty much sees all games live either on FTA or Fox.

He can't believe that, even though we have Fox, we can't see Fri night games, nor some Sat games. He also can't understand why, if the Crows or Port are playing, why Fox play the same game, at the same time.

Neither can I.

Cannot believe that on a Monday night we had to wait for "Zoo" to finish before the footy came on. FFS ch 7 show some respect to your audience.

It's not Foxtel's fault. They have paid for the rights to show those games but the FTA networks use the clause that the Crows/Power games are to be shown in Adelaide on FTA to enable them to take the Foxtel feed and broadcast the games as well.

It's the future of the game. With a 17th side and then an 18th side coming in, the AFL needs to ensure each game gets coverage and so it needs to open up another time slot - Monday night.
However, that still doesn't explain why exactly the broadcast of last night's game was delayed.

With your thinking FNF would have never evolved...Monday night footy is the biggest game of the week in the NFL

It was also the ideal weekend to trial it by taking a game away from Sunday, being Mothers Day

They need to find a new timeslot for when the new teams come in, I think I will like Monday night games. Monday is a pretty crap day at work so it will be good to come home, relax and watch some footy (provided they show it live!!)

We can't exactly have all games on a Saturday arvo...
