Tell me about it. Every Showdown I have to put up with being threatened with boiling hot tea and near razor sharp knitting needles, fortunatley the tri-coloured cushions and part completed Nanna-blankets break my fall.

I haven't missed too many AFL games at AAMI/Footy Park in the last 15 years, and for many visiting teams they have a heavy contingent of supporters, yet I've never seen any of them act badly nor anyone act badly toward them.

The Collingwood supporters burnout show at West Lakes mall after some games has been very entertaining and well received whilst waiting for a cab.

Obviously Stan Is a crows fan. Try wearing opposition colours and see what it is like.

West Coast Eagles mate. Been to AAMI plenty of times, been to Subi, MCG and Etihad as well and in my opinion AAMI is not unsafe, full of annoying people at time perhaps, but thats football. Like I said they are everywhere.

Also I always where my colours to AAMI so dont make assumptions because it makes you look like a tool. Also dont ever call me a crows supporter again!

I hardly go watch Geelong there and travel interstate instead, it's got to the point that I now have a Melbourne 11 membership for my family instead of an interstate membership which would entitle me to entry at Geelongs games here.
My missus is a Crows supporter and she'd rather watch them on TV or in Victoria because ofthe amount of wankers at Footy Park.

I agree with you 100% on the point of supporters not being able to cope with sharing, and being wankers - i go to most Crows home games and are constantly amazed at the stupid comments i hear from fellow Crows supporters. But this hardly makes it unsafe.

Good call. I think alot of "fans" are ignorant when it comes to the rules, which makes them look and sound like wankers. In my experience, Crows fans are worse than Port.

What is the most feral place people have been? Must admit despite many abuse session and even one fight at various places here the worst Ive encountered was at a Rugby League game at Wollongong when the Raiders were playing the old Steelers. We stood with the Canberra crowd who were mainly old people and families and the ferals there actually did throw several full unopened cans at us. I just caught most of them and drank them but Ive never encountered a more feral crowd. Only time Ive been scared was at 2 soccer Grand Finals, the Croats were scary crazy, they looked lime they were going to kill use, they threw flares at us and I saw them attack a police horse, we had to hide our Adelaide City colours. I don't know if feral was the right word as it was more like a violent riot.

Most feral place I've been?

Village Tavern one Friday night when I was 18. Bikies charged in, grabbed a bloke. Held his mates. Slammed him behind a ciggie machine and slammed it against him. He gradually slid down behind the thing as they were slamming it. Scary.

Being in a nightclub in Mildura when some big Tongans teed off was also pretty scary.

agree DA, try and EPL or SPL game and you will see feral, they close suburbs down around the grounds with cops on every corner. And once in the ground Ive never heard more colourful language in my life, certainly not a place for kids.

In the early 90's I joined some mates in going to a Crows/Collingwood game at Vic Park, that was feral also but in a way enjoyable, back in the days of VB cans being the only alcohol you could get. We copped it all day but at the end everyone was full of VB and had a good chat to many of them.

Unfortauntely there is a new generation coming thru that dont know what it is like to stand on the hill with opposition fans all around you and having a bit of banter/fun.

People take things too seriously IMO, including many that have jumped up and down at Eddie's comments

Pretty hypocritical of Eddie. Wasn't it last year that the father of Melbourne player Nathan Jones was king hit by a bunch of Collingwood supporters after a game.
