Credit where credit is due, Fremantle played very well last night. The ability to sustain it is what will test them.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Hopefully he can shut everyone up who keeps banging on about Freo not selecting Rich. They could only take one of them and I think they've chosen well.

I think Freo picked the right one.

The recruiting staff at Freo were never that bad, they were just overridden by idiot coaches and CEO's who wanted to top up rather than go with youth, I think they're finally on the right track.

Spot on Barto. They pick up a gem like Barlow, Morabito looks a good size and has some polish. He'll get into games more with some experience. Mayne looks the goods but faded a bit as the game wore on. Ballantyne is brilliant. His workrate without the ball is fantastic. Annoying little bugger aswell. Broughton is strong across defece and is only in his second year.
Still have Palmer to come back from a knee, did he play WAFL on the weekend? How did he go?
You also left out Dodd. Any reason behind that? I think he would have been a better match up for some of Adelaides tall forwards.

I think they would have done well if they'd picked either player.
Both different types of player, but both also very handy.

Really rated Suban last night and Ballantyne too.

Dodd has played WAFL for the last two weeks. Silvangi is a better option, I think Dodd will be mainly playing for East Freo this year. I've never rated him.

On 6PR today they're tipping Ballantyne to get clocked by someone by round 4 at the latest. ;)

Not sure about Palmer, there was talk he was going to play a half of ressies on the weekend.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

It will be interesting to say the least to see if Freo can back up on the road. One of the more intriguing matchups of the second round as the Bombers will be very keen to open their account after an encouraging first up effort against the Cats.

It was only NAB cup but after beating North at Docklands, Freo should be fairly confident against the Bombers.
Will be interesting to see how well Barlow plays after all the hype of R1.
I'll be reasonably happy if he only manages half his R1 SC score.

Speaking of which, who is the Bombers' 'run with' player?

Looked good today and the first time beating Essendon at Docklands. Need to notch up a win against quality opposition but going by recent years results in Melbourne, today was a big step forward.

Doubt there's going to be too much criticism of Fremantle's recruiting team this season.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

As much as I hate them I have to say i've been very impressed so far, 2 great wins against some pretty good teams in the Crows and Bombers. Big game next week for them against the Cats looking forward to see how they go
