Talk on the national game

I would go with Ottens. Highly rated junior, high draft pick, athletic, skilled but as soft as a marshmellow.

I know a coach who is cashing in on no reputation and that is Grant Thomas....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

REB, REB, REB

Ottens is like a tampon, he is in for 1 and out for 3......

surely all lfootballer should be judged by their performance over a long period, one performance out of the box here or their does not make a season or a career

You can get back in your box as well. Leave him alone..all of you.

Ottens has had a pretty good year this season in the ruck (9th in overall hitouts before the Freo game) and has played EVERY match this season. I feel sorry for any chick who has a tampon in for 12 weeks! Do you even watch Geelong??

Certainly not an AA year. This is the first season in years when Otto has been able to get on the park (in other words, your tampon comment was accurate for every season bar this one so far touch wood). Ottens was good yesterday, against the Saints and also against Sydney earlier in the year. Had a few carp games in there but he's getting there. Interesting to see how Adelaide's defence handles the Geelong talls in the next round. Geelong have had far worse players than Brad Ottens this season.

Barry Hall - Sydney Swans.....

Prestagiacomo shut him down, Collingwood won.
Therefore, my original point is simply accurate.

Well the ulitmate success in AFL football is a flag, so I believe my comment still stands. If teh Swans midfield had played better the supply of ball would have made Presti a useflull as a hip pocket on a singlet...

So your not going to give credit to Presti for shutting down Big Bad?
Presti had a lapse in the 3rd, & Big Bad ran amok.

Not as such.....hey it was a great team effort by Collingwood last night. Prigiocomo, Preastigiociomio, Prastugi, ah **** it, Presti played well to eliminate the effectiveness of Hall. But i'm sure you'll agree Punky that he was helped out by the Collingwood midfielders winning the battle last night against, Kirk, Williams, Schneider etc....

Whether it was the Pies midfield stifling the supply, Prestigiacomo blanketing Hall, or a combination of both, it still proves my point- 1 scoring option isn't enough.

I understand where you are coming from but I'll reserve my judgement on the basis of one game.....

As I said previously a pretty impressive piece of silverware is in the Sydney FC front office that proves that their current set up goes allright........

Well despite two straight defeats, are we not in an even better position than we were at this stage last year? Still believe the best of the Swans in 2006 is yet to come.

David Votoupal

you may be right the swans best still might be on the way but in saying that I don't think their best will be a higher bench mark then they set last year, sides have worked them out and they have not brought anything else to the table, it's the same tempo man on man style of footy

in my opinion I think the Crows and Eagles have improved considerably and I think that both clubs still have plenty room for improvement

no doubt swans will be ultra competitve during finals but I am not convinced it can make another GF
