My opinion is the Cows are pretenders.

With the SANFL team you support, you would certainly be an expert in spotting them... ;)

I think you need to work on your spelling by the way...

“Jog on” , no worries Guv’nor.

Footy Smart just might not be and he ( even though I showed him evidence other wise ) thinks I only come in here to troll.

My first post relating to player age’s was hardly a troll as the 12 or so players I mentioned are hardly “young” and most clubs now have playing lists that are about 24 years old on average. We hear a lot about Adelaide’s young blokes and I agree they are a very talented group but age is not as big an issue as how many games they have under the belt as players start younger and at 22/23 can have 70 or 80 games under the belt, IMO that is hardly “young” in football terms.

As for my second post it was laced with  ‘s and if that doesn’t suggest it was tongue in cheek then perhaps it isn’t me that needs to rethink my reasons for entering this forum.

Read the posts mate, take a  as a tongue in cheek comment as most people on here would.

Cereal Troller? Not me mate, I like Corn Flakes or Nutri Grain simple as that.

Now you back pedal?

Call me a "cereal" troller then when challenged you throw that back? Where are your "constructive" comments then.

I don't think they are the players he was referring too Booney. RM didn't say 'young squad' ie he wasn't referring to the team as a whole, what he's interested in is how blokes like Vince, Otten, Dangerfield, Mackay, Knights will respond to finals football.

Finals are where potentials are realised, and where ordinary has the opportunity to become extraordinary. Will be very interesting to see who (if any) of this group further make a name for themselves in 09.

Exactly right. Go easy on Booney though, Port supporters aren't the most literate of creatures. ;)

I am excited to see how the blokes like Danger, Otten, D-Mac, Bernie etc go in a tough finals match.

Imagine if Geelong don't win the flag this year! 3 years up the top for just 1 Premiership after they were declared the greatest team ever not long ago. 8)

The flag was won by default though as the opponent failed to turn up.

I think plenty is said about Adelaide's young players because they havent really had any promising ones over the last fews years - at least not in multiple numbers.

And i agree RM, it will be interesting to see how some of these blokes stand up to finals pressure.

I don't think Geelong will win the flag. Collingwood is my tip as much as I hate to say it. That's the difference between myself and the majority of Cows supporters. I'm realistic.

So I ignored the 'terrible post' comments from those who had one eye closed and decided not to think about what I was saying. As you win games the expectation of a club rises. Pre-season goals and views are just not relevant once you become rated as a contender.

Now Adelaide is rated as a contender and has been rated a contender ever since Gary Lyon said they were a smokey for the flag. After cleaning up the Blues in impressive style last week now everyone is talking up Adelaide the equal of the top four. I say they are pretenders because their record against the top eight is four wins and seven losses. They simply do not deserve to be ranked up there with the genuine contenders for the flag.

So are they pretenders? To the flag, yes. If they win the flag this year or knock out Geelong, I'll be ordering a couple of Rashers of Bacon to go along with the Egg on my face.

Cheers,

REB

Being realistic is overated. Being optimistic and thinking your team is always a chance is way more fun.
