They probably won't win the 3 or 4 premierships that maybe a few people expected last year, but i think they'll still be more competitive after their premiership win than Essendon was in 2000. Only time will tell though.

You hear it all the time when a team dominates, such as Carlton for one outstanding year in the 90s and Essendon in I think 2000.
Brisbane with 3 in a row have achieved way more and for my money Geelong are behind them ,they may well bounce back and win another couple, but until then the people in the media wanna not put their credibilities on the line making silly comments like that, one flag doesnt make a dynasty.

Let's face it, winning 42 from 45 can't continue. I certainly don't expect them to be crap next year, but history tells us that teams can't keep that form up for three plus years. I would LOVE to see them come back next year and get up the top, but in Malthouse's words, the window is closing.

I can see them falling down the ladder a bit next season after today's effort. Mind you, it's a fine line because straight kicking could've had them winning their second flag in a row.

Who is going to go past Geelong next season? OK, we are now ranked number 2. For me that would make the Cats hungrier and more determined than anything to get revenge on the Hawks rather than precipitate a slide down the ladder. Done a bit of surfing this morning and it is laughable the amount of posts and threads predicting a Geelong downfall.
This has nothing to do with Essendon 2000. They didn't keep their list together. We will. This has more to do with North 1998. North won in 1999 and we can do the same in 2009.

football revolution ended after 1 year, get off the grass Hondo, they should have won today, they lost 2 games all year if they had kicked straight in the 2nd 1/4 they may well have been 5 or 6 up, such is footy, they will be a force for the next 2 to 3 seasons at least

Id expect Hawk/Cats to be hard to beat again next year but there will be a challenger....I would suggest Bullies, Roos or even Brisbane might be the ones....Carlton - NO!
