Yep, the lack of small forwards stopped us making the finals in 2007 :roll:

Could not agree with you more Dutchy re : small forwards and the Crows missing the mark in the SANFL. (not the slightest bit intersted in Port)

Can't believe how many times in the last 2 years the ball has fallen to a crumbing position in the Crows forward line and the opposition have swept away and set up an attacking opportunity.

Forward Lines pressure is essential these days and a goalkicking crumber is so valuable.

Look at geelong . They have 2 big men Mooney & Lonergan. Mooney is good serviceable player (certainly not a superstar) Lonergan is still developing but will never be a Pavlich/Franklin/Riewoldt/Brown/Fevola type star.
The difference is stokes, steve johnston, varcoe plus Ablett / chapman when they rest up forward. Hardtackling, creative , crumbing goalkickers.
