A send off yesterday, then play this week (after his send off) then play the week after (two games after his send off) and then maybe play the week after........it might never end.

This in no way is a reflection of the admiration I have for him, just poor managment IMO.

I agree. Plenty of Saints fans.

As for the last match debate - what chance will Saints fans get to be near the great man at this weekend's game? He would be waving to the back of the top tier. There's a few Essendon servants retiring as well, including the much loved Adam Ramanauskas.

Mind you,a top 4 spot was up for grabs and Essendon had 4 players to send off,one of them (Rama) being a little more than the ordinary footballer. Not his ability, the manner in which he has fought and beaten the big C twice.

Well done to Hawthorn for giving Robert Harvey a guard of honour.I am sure he enjoyed all three of them....

I doubt there would be any hidden in the woodwork- they've played in Prelim finals fairly regularly over the last few years.

Some guards of honour are mere tokens, but I think you will find the Hawthorn club and players have genuine respect for Robert Harvey.

Look, don't get me wrong,he is a fantastic player and deserves much adulation. I like the guard of honour for retiring players, not all though as Harvey's 21 year career will not be surpassed IMO, I just think the whole send off for him has been blown out of proportion.

Glad the send off directed him over to Princes Park, where he will be the Development Coach.

I'm sure it can be repossessed seeing that Carlton don't have a reciept for it, being paid for in cash (non consecutive small denominations etc).

BTW: I thought this thread would be about that godawful rubbish that Voss spouted at the Brownlow.
It's all the SANFL's fault.
