Cats by hopefully 120+ [-o<

Do you actually think before you type?

Clearly just making a tongue in cheek post, as being a Power fan I couldn't give a toss who now wins the 2008 GF as we wont.
Stating that I hope the Cats win by 120+ should have given it away, but maybe I should have added some more smileys to make it bleedingly obvious. Sorry

it would be nice to see someone flog the crows by more than we got flogged last year as i have been copping it all year from crows supporters who rate it as the best ever grand final. but i reckon the cats will play the hawks in that one day in september!!! geelong to go back 2 back

It's not going to happen. The Crows may get beaten, but they are a more disciplined and consistent side, even if they lack a few key players.

Despite being a Norwood and Crows supporter, I was barracking for the Power at the start of last years GF, because of family connections and some loyalty to SA - but found it too pathetic to watch in the end.
I agree that it will probably be Geelong and the Hawks in the GF this year, but we Crows supporters still have hope left. Our season is not yet totally over...

Doesn't that typify how pathetic Cows supporters are. Saying that last years GF was best ever shows what meat heads they are.

Clearly Ports defeat of Brissy back in 2004 was the best GF ever.

good thing about the Roos playing Geelong in Week 1 of the finals is they then head to the other side of the draw where the Bullies and Hawks await :D

Yes, the Roos blew it big time today they had it laid out for them on a platter and failed to deliver.

Under the current final 8 system, no team outside the top 4 has even made a GF let alone win one

So the most likely outcome of today's implosion = bye bye 2008

Back on topic - I have said all year Cats to beat the Hawks and I still think that

Can anybody remember such luck as the Crows got today in the AFL?? Providing St.Kilda don't do an even more freakish feat tomorrow the Crows can thank their lucky stars. Btw the 4th placed team would have a pretty good draw leading into the gf....Not that they will, but I would rather face Hawthorn or the doggies in a Prelim..... (Does this wreak of 98 where the Crows get cleaned up week 1 of the finals at the G then play Sydney the week after  )

You can relax, If Adel are lucky they'll get to a prelim. I cant see any of the teams 3rd to 8th ATM beating HAwthorn or Geelong.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Um .... we played them in Sydney .... and then won 2 more interstate finals making 3 in a row. Probably the only time that will ever happen.

I don't know if that's luck.

Remember it was a different final 8 system back then - if it had been the current system the Crows would have had a home final and played the 8th ranked team. Instead of playing in Melbourne and playing the 4th ranked team

Back then if you finished 5th and lost the first final, it would be very unlucky to drop out. It would have needed 2 of the top 3 teams to lose in the first week as well.

Luckily the luck of Geelong finishing high up on the ladder and having to play a team well below them on the ladder at the lower team's home ground and umpiring (cue Colbert mark) are well and truly over. The days of teams fluking a flag or two by lucky finals draws are well and truly over, thank god.

Wedgie, even in 1997 we had to beat the 3rd ranked team and then the 1st ranked team, both times in Melbourne, to win the flag. I don't think you can call that luck either.

5 interstate finals wins in 2 years can never be called luck IMO.

Geelong shot themselves in the foot by losing to the 7th ranked team. I think that was the 2nd biggest upset under that old final 8 system, first being when 8th ranked Melbourne beat 1st ranked Carlton in 1994.

Luckily in these days of professonalism stupid and lucky happenings last century are about as relevent as those from the 19th century.
