At 28 he still has at least 2 good years in him, perhaps 3 or 4 at most he already appears to be struggling with a lack of leg speed (never a real asset).

I would be happy to swap Lonie for him.

If you go down the Freo path you'll just get Freo results. If Port have lost thier way and the Magpies are no longer what they were, perhaps a trip to Elizabeth might be in order to rediscover the traditional Port Adelaide Ethos.

If not, listen to ol' REB.

POWER AT THE BODY. POWER AT THE BALL.

Port sides had this drilled into them so much that it was passed down from generation to generation and success followed. While the AFL is a different kettle of fish to the SANFL this fundamental cornerstone of Port Adelaide/Williams' philosophy appears to have been overlooked in the last few seasons.

In exchange for Adam Thomson.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Why not? i say.

hes only 28, still some decent seasons left in him.

Port were winning with him, and now Port are losing without him, so get him back!

You're joking. Why would Port use up a space on their list, two years before the Ironmen come in (and clean out the 2010 draft) with a Freo Hack who will get reported anyway. Er...no.

With this years draft set to be one of the deepest yet (reportedly) Port wuold be stupid to trade any of there top 40 picks. I also doubt Freo would be interested in trading him for a pick late in the draft.

if he walks from Freo and we can nab him in the preseason draft then great but i wouldnt like to see us use a high pick. Especially when no-one exactly knows what the draft conditions will be after this season.

He can join the side lines with his mate Dean "elbow" S!

I had a bit of a chat to Josh at the Airport on Saturday Night, I don't think he is all that interested in coming back to Adelaide, although he is pretty happy that the Bays are doing so well.

you're certainly right regarding this next draft............VERY important!! But I think if Port can pick up 1 or 2 experienced and hardnut type players and throw them in the mix with the current youngsters, then Port are a chance to play off in another GF in the next year or two. IMO.
The romantic reunion does sound good though..................
Hate to burst your bubble Amber but don't book your flights for a Port Grand Final in the next year or two. Port Adelaide Power will not be making a GF for 5 years + and that's if everything goes their way.

I'm sure a lot of people were saying that in the year 2000 too.

Anyone seen the ladder recently?

Josh Carr played a cracker of a game today. I think he really only turns up when our opposition are either WCE or Port Power.

How about the premiership list? lol, despite being in 2 less years, Port smashes Freo in any criteria over both clubs' journies.

Sounds as if he is a certainty to return to port. If we can get him in the pre-season draft then he would be a handy pick up!!
