For those of you never having had the pleasure of attending a blackbirds home game, (as a neutral supporter) let m tell you what your "missing"- out of the 42k crowd, a large percentage are football ignorant. Just going by the hysteria around me, the blackbirds were entitled to 163 free kicks without managing to give away a single one themselves- outstanding team discipline... also, anyone would've thought it was them who'd disposed of Geelong by 86 pts.... yeah, you won a close won, but against Essendumb FFS people, Essendumb- you know, the fav's for the WOODEN SPOON?

HA! Come over to Melbourne sometime and go to an Essendon home game at Telstra or Collingwood home game at the MCG. 85% of the crowd don't have opposable thumbs and seem to think dribbling and spitting passes for forming words.

I went to the Crows game Friday and the faithful were like most crowds, hating the umpire, but put in perspective, no worse than a bi-partisan Melbourne based crowd. The fact that 90% (roughly) were Adelaide supporters made it sound worse than it actually was IMO.

I went to an ANZAC day game a few years ago with a few mates. A female Collingwood supporter stood up behind us and shouted "Hey Hirdy, you know you're a tampon, in one week out for four". And oldy, but a baddy when it comes from a female supporter at the footy.

FWIW, I'd rather go to Melbourne to watch the footy cos you get the 50/50 crowds. Hence I'd rather go to the SANFL nowadays rather than go to footy park.

Was at the G yesterday for Collingwood v West Coast. Collingwood fans were at their irrational best, despite winning by 100 points.

Essendon fans have a born-to-rule mentality previously the sole province of Demon supporters. Many have never known Essendon to be a bottom side in their lifetime. It was so good to be there when Geelong went on the rampage against them earlier this season. Their slogan by year's end could well be "It's good to be 3.... and 19".
