Credit where it's due ... I've never been a fan but I thought he really stood up tonight and as a senior player tried to counter Ports physicality, full credit to him.

I have $20 on him at 65/1 for the 2008 NAB Rising Star

Gee, fantastic odds. All he needs is a rising star nomination, then people will realise how good he is and take notice.

Doughty was sensational, the best I've seen him play. Take a bow Michael.

hmmmm I think the number 1 draft pick will get this week's nomination

Oh yeah, he won't get it this week, but he'll get one this season!

I'm still backing my man Rhys Palmer though.

Definitely one of the best minor round wins I've ever seen for the AFC. Fantastic. Such a gutsy performance and gee we have some young guns who will be superb in the future. I'm glad I was there to see that.

Most punters (including me) had Adelaide outside the top 8.After a narrow loss the the Dogs then beating the Eagles and Power,Neil Craig has shown some flexibility in his play book and the attacking (at times) style might just get them in to the top 6,maybe top 4.

They are the modern day chokers though.

Great game to watch. I really enjoyed it. Enjoyed it much more than the Rich v collingwood game. Well done to the crows, it really was a good win. It was also nice to see some hard hits back in football.

It was an outstanding win of course and it follows on from the great come from behind win in the wet in the previous Showdown

Just some minor negatives:

-the tendency to bomb the ball into the forwards (it rarely worked)
-Burton's poor match (missed set shots and low percentage marking attempts)
-Griffen's frees against (kept them in it, but he'll learn)

Poor shots on goal but IMO he was quite good, especially late when his workrate was terrific and he drifted down into defence to lend a helping hand.

Some of those frees against Griffin were disgraceful.

The umpiring was very poor, over umpired.

Burton got his ass handed to him on a plate. Chaplin killed him.

Gee. 18 possessions, 11 marks, 1 goal.

Burton didn’t have his best game but get your eyes checked champ.

'Poor' is probably a bit harsh as you're correct, he did improve as the match went on (no doubt in part due to his fitness).
Just early on he was wasteful and very late in the game he attempted to outmark Kenny which resulted in a turnover.

I think it's great that you two bunch of clowns absolutely smashed the bejesus out of each other. Port is now 0-3 and the Crows will be as flat as dog5hit when they go down to Tassie to take on the Hawks who have had one more day to recover after thier own tough clash against the Roos.

I reckon Port will bounce back next week and take out the Lions but the Crows will struggle against the Hawks. Flying to Tassie is a pain in the ar5e. Not sure if the Crows will have to do this but when I went I had to take two one hour flights. Not a great preperation there. After the working over the Power gave the Crows I'd reckon that Clarkson would have sent a thank you to his old mate Choco for a job well done.

Meanwhile, my mob had half rat power turnover practice at home after watching some flags getting unwrapped. After the kick in the ar5e we would have got from our worst effort in months, I'd expect that we'd be taking it out on the Saints who have now played their last three matches at the Dome.

regards,

REB
