Picked in Phantom Draft to go at 14 and picked in the paper to go at 12.
Ended up going at 10.

Would have thought Ebert would have been the way to go, rated higher and not another Victorian that might go back home for the Crows.

Almost through 1 full mini draft for the SANFL already, might be a full round of 2 after rookies, preseason draft, etc.

WTF are the Crows thinking, could perhaps understand if Ebert had been taken already.

Fraser Gehrig picked up by the Sts, Mark Johnson picked up by Freo.

Can't be too much between them, Ebert was slotted in at 10 in predictions because of the assumption the Crows would get him I think. I tend to agree if both players are equal ability, pick the local kid. Crows must have felt Dangerfield was ahead of Ebert. 2 other clubs let Ebert go too before WCE got him.

But TBH don't know enough about either player we'll have to wait and see.

From a North Adelaide point of view i'm pretty pleased with that. Only Marlon Motlop picked up and he'll stay in Adelaide with the Power anyway.

Un ******* Believeable.

Could have had Ebert but went for a Vic. The big question now is which SANFL club will he play reserves at for two years before he gets home sick and the crows trade him for half a cold four and twenty pie and a used box of matches.

Spending next year in Vic too.

Norwood better not draft him, don't want another mini draft selection not playing.

The Crows will be criticised for passing on Ebert, however I am comfortable with the decision, I believe that their will always be the lure for Brad to play for the Power, I also have some concern with Brad's leg speed to play in the midfield.... sometimes the easy decision is not the best....

Ebert did slip to 13, maybe he is viewed as a flanker only

Dangerfield is a true midfielder with Pace to burn and true ball winning ability

Syd

Brad Ebert is a genuine footballer and a very good one @ that - his leg speed is fine and I would of been much more at ease with him at the crows. You simply cant go past football smarts and possibly could of played in the Crows side next year.

Instead we go with an interstate player who is going to stay in Melbourne next year to do year 12 with our top pick and is no chance of playing for the the Crows next year.

If Ebert plays league footy this year for West Coast we have already lost out on this pick.
It is what it is !!!

Still the rookie draft to go later - this is the one that really bites if they go interstate.
