I agree with you hondo, I think that retaining McGregor is a good thing for the Crows.

IIRC there have been posts that I remember from REB in the past, calling for Geelong to get rid of S Johnson ASAP....

I admit I am a Kenny fan I think he has more to offer than what we have seen so far - if we ended up with a 3rd or 4th round pick for him well if it were me I'd rather keep the guy.

You are correct on this point but I was hoping they would package him up with another player to get a young midfield type player who has had a couple of years under there belt @ another club !!!

I wont use any examples as obviously it aint gonna happen now !!!

i agree with hondo, it doesn't hurt to have him on the list, it is well known that the crows list is pretty bloody thin for quality so if he comes good next year it will be great, if there is a better alternative for the aforementioned key positions then play that person instead.

the way I look at it is, get rid of him if he is only the 43rd best player available, if he is 42nd best or above then what harm are you doing

and as for you reb, i reckon you ought to go back to your diatribe from about round 3 or 4 this year where you made it clear what you thought of geelongs chances. it sounded like you were ready to trade mooney and countless others who took you to premiership glory! a lot can, and does, change in the space of a year

I don't believe contracting Kenny completely takes him off the trade table

My mail

Richmond and WB are very keen on Kenny, however, both Clubs have indicated that they will not trade for Kenny as he is an uncontracted player and would rather select Kenny in the pre-season draft.

Adelaide, is very keen on one or two Richmond and WB listed players

Adelaide by contracting Kenny, forces both the WB and Richmond to trade for Kenny services, this is also a win for Kenny, he is still open to the concept of more opportunities at another club, however has security in a 2 year contract with Adelaide if a trade can not be agreed too.....

Plenty of players still agree to trades even though they are contracted to their clubs

Lets just wait and see how this plays out
