Either Tim Boyle/Josh Thurgood + early draft pick = Judd to Hawthorn

I believe that Thurgood could be a good CHB/CHF and has time on his side, and could complement either Lynch or Glass at either end of the ground.

Boyle, when fit, could provide the Eagles with a multi-pronged forward set-up. I'd sure like to see him paired with Lynch and Hansen up forward.

Better still, the Power should release some deadwood (i.e. Damon White, Ryan Willits, Nathan Lonie, Adam Cockshell) and an early pick for Judd. How good would a Judd, K. Cornes, Boak, Cassisi and C. Cornes midfield look, when Lade is spoon-feeding them from the centre square?

Are Port moving to Melbourne? That would be nice. Can they take the Crows with them?

haha, I did sound like an idiot, didn't I?

I suppose it could happen if The Borough changed their nickname to the Power, and align with an AFL club...

In regards to the Crows, I suggest a move to Baghdad...

In reply to Rod_Rooster, yes, that is him...but a change of scenery can work wonders. Look at Aaron Edwards, former Weagles discard, ex-Liston Trophy and Frosty Miller Medal winner, starting to get noticed at Arden Street...it can happen.

True but a change of scenery won't change the fact that he simply can't put on the bulk. He has tried and tried but remains around 75kg's which is simply far too light for his 190cm frame. There is no way he can make it sucessfully unless he can bulk up and this will not happen. Don't get me wrong if Hawthorn could get Judd by giving West Coast Thurgood and a high draft pick i'd be exstatic but the Eagles would be on the receiving end of the biggest rip off in history.

Theres no issue about players not being able to bulk up at the Eagles!! Whatever they are doing, their skinny players bulk up very quickly over the space of a preseason

I dunno Rod, Adelaide receiving Wayne Carey and Ronnie Burns was a catastrophic dud, as was Tony Hall back in the day...

I see your point Rod, but bulk isn't the 'be all and end all' when it comes to key position players. Just look at Westhoff...I'd be peeved if he was told to bulk up, as he may lose some of his agility.

I just think Thurgood needs a regular game (when fit) to see if he's the goods at AFL level. I guess only time will tell.

West Coast have siad that they do not want a player for Judd but they do want draft picks, they are confident they can develop good youngsters as they have done in the past

We'll have to agree to disagree i guess HOF. The major difference between Westoff and Thurgood is that Westoff has ability.

There's no harm in a lively discussion is there, Rod?

I guess I'm a sentimental guy, and I love seeing 'last chance' players succeed against the oods a la Josh Mahoney.

But overall, it was thought provoking stuff. We'll just have to see how trade week pans out!

Like i said in another thread or another page, they have not ruled out picking up an established player and thats the way the deal will get clinched IMO.

HOF- The eagles would be insulted with that offer from Hawthorn, Thurgood is finished at this level IMO and would not make WCE's top 42 players so there is no way that would happen.

These are the sort of things that will probably get the job done during trade week.

Fevola plus pick 1 or 3
Gumbleton, Jetta and pick 6
Williams, Player and Pick
Pick 4, Brad Green and another pick or Player (Robbo will be thrown around IMO)

Another option would be Fevola to Bulldogs for pick 5, then off load pick 3,5 and 20 to the Eagles and still keep No 1, and get Judd.
