NFC

Hang on, how can the Pies ask for a first round

they have a one warning clause in Didak's contract, this alone say's he is not an untouchable and a potential risk

if he is worth a first round pick, then remove the clause

The other thing is that if the magpies are seriously making a punt for Judd, who I don't think will be at WC next year, then they also are in an awkward possie in brokering this deal, so if it means letting Didak go at a lesser deal in order to get what they want then maybe they have to. As Mick said "you can't always get what you want" added to that and if you're Collingwood then "if you try some times, you tell them you want, you always get what you want".??????

I would also think that the Magpies would need to make some room under the Cap, Didak would free up about $400k per year

Is bail money included in this?

On Kenny

Hawks are definitely keen, Croad is their only big body down back, ideally they want to free Brown to play as a third tall, not as a key position player, while their Kids like Zac Dawson, still have fair bit of development in front of them

I'm not sure the Crows want any juvenile delinquents, but perhaps Port would like another one and we can pick up Chad or Kane in exchange as part of a 4 club deal??

Age wise Hawthorn has the youngest list for 2007 (22 years and 82 days) with Carlton next at 22 years and 110 days.
At the other end the Crows are the oldest (24 years 126 days) next is Fremantle 24 years 28 days)

Games played the most inexperienced side (ave games) is once again Hawthorn 48 games, next is the Power 49 games
The most experienced side (ave games) is Fremantle with 76 games.

Hondo, dont know if you would like to retract!!!!

No. The comment I was responding too was 'the Hawks are only playing kids'.

When you look at the Hawthorn team that played in the finals it is an experienced side - there was a debate in another thread about this which prompted my comment here. Would you believe the average number of games played per player in the side that beat the Crows in the finals was 100  The Crows was 121 including Roo at 311 games.

The Hawks obviously have a number of very young and inexperienced players on their list (who don't play regularly) which drags their averages down overall, but look closely at their top 25-28 is my point. That's why working out averages over the whole 40 list can be misleading. Anyway, the number of zero-game players on their overall list is why I say the Hawks would want a couple of more experienced types.

Look at where Carlton and Hawthorn are currently (2nd bottom v 6th) to see what I mean. If the Hawks de-list or trade 4 of these young guys for more experienced types watch their averge change very quickly.

Take Vandenburg, Smith and Dixon off that list as well. Fair bit of age and experience that has retired. No doubt they will be replaced by guys younger than them so the Hawthorn list isn't as old and experienced as you would try to have people believe hondo

Every team has a few older guys retiring so all the averages will come down

Anyway, I am not saying their list is old - all I am saying is their best 22 is far from inexperienced

Hondo, please post a quote with the only playing kids line in it???????
My post said "probably the most inexpirienced side in the league" which in ave games terms and average age terms which has proven to be correct I see.
also I might point out that AGAIN that 24 of the list of 38 is under 70games so enough of this top 24-28 rubbish please.

It wasn't you I was quoting - have a look back

The best Hawks team from their list of 40 mostly have 3+ years / 50+ games experience that's all I am trying to say. Sure, 10 guys have no games and are teenagers but they aren't playing in the senior side, so the senior side is not inexperienced.

They are a good side ready for a crack in 2008 and 2009 and I reckon would look at a couple of experienced players in trade week - that's the discussion that lead to all this .....
