Judd to Collingwood?
Then again, if Buckley retires Eddie would still be able to have his threesomes.

Amazing the Rumours that are started about this man.

* Just brought a house in the good area of Perth, Def Staying (Mid Year)
* Twigley is doing her last year of study in Melbourne
* Twigley has been offered job for Channel 9 and will be moving back with Chris
* Judd to Collingwood for Multi million dollar contract
* Judd to Carlton for a huge amount of money
* Judd sick of the "Bad Culture" of WCE and will leave at the end of the year.
* Judds best mate Daniel Kerr said he will not leave
* Has already secretly signed and agreed to terms

Honestly he has said he will not discuss his contract till the end of the season just like Bomber Thompson has. I think that is fair enough and i am fairly confident he will stay at the Eagles.

Honestly the People that think that he will just go through to the Pre Season Draft and leave the Eagles with nothing are deluding themselves. I am sure he will make sure the Eagles are properly compensated if he did end up leaving.

If he does want to go and the Eagles can't work a trade because they get too greedy during trade week, that's exactly what will happen.

It happened for Nick Stevens - it will NOT happen with Judd there's just too much at stake

WC need their pound of flesh for him and unless its Carlton he wants to play for, they will have another club desperate to do a deal

With Stevens, Collingwood were keen but not desperate to get him so were happy to let him slip through. Compare that to the Crows and Darren Jarman - when you want someone badly enough the deal gets done. Imagine Collingwood watching Judd slip through to their arch-rival (Carlton) for nothing!

Won't happen

It probably will end up happening. Collingwood will give them nothing for Judd to make sure that happens, then secure the number pick from richmond with some magic beans.

i was just speaking to a mate in Perth

he said the vibe is Judd will announce he is returning to melb within a few days

he also metioned some of the $$$ that have been floating around, five year contract for $1M per season...

Judd is a great player, given the current salary cap, I would not support the crows paying this salary for one player, the risks are too high.

look how Kouta's salary and five year deal limited carlton to effectively manage their list, especially retaining young talent, because you wont have the room under your cap to pay them market value.

A five year contract is also a concern, Judd has a chronic groin problem, 5 years in footy can be a long time, anything can happen

Essendon, Carlton, Collingwood and Richmond, all seem prepared to take this risk, $5m for 5 years

It could back fire down the track

His groin problem has only really flared up this year hasnt it - some rest and an operation will see him back to his almost best.

Blue Boy

would you play $5m for 5 years

for me, the key issue is, if Carlton paid Judd $5m for 5 years, this obsorbs a huge amount of your cap, the risk, it makes it increasingly more difficult to retain players such as Murphy or Gibbs, because you have limited funds available to pay them the market price

unless the cap significantly increases, it is a massive risk, yes you will lure the best player in the land, however you wont have much left over to retain players or future recruiting

Judd is one player they will not be able to do a dodgey deal, the AFL will be watching this with every set of eyes they have

Bottom line, clubs are willing to pay 1 / 7th of their cap on one player, considering, 38 players on the list....... good luck

it is reported in the herald sun that Carlton is offering Judd $7.5 million package over five years.

Judd is a great player, however, is he worth $1.5m a year, this has a massive amount of risk attached, it servely restricts your capability to retain young players and recruit future talent

Surely Judd would be looking for a club that has the capability to play finals next year, and win a flag in the next thre years

will it be all about $$$, team success would surely be important to Judd

Carlton get another 2 early draft picks this year + Judd + what they have already

Who knows? 3-5 years time they could be very strong?

Judd has tasted Premiership success so that 'driver' is not so immediate now he may be happy to play in a developing team

Too much salary cap pressure for one player, Richmond found that out with Darren Gaspar

Hondo 71

The issue is Carlton are offering $7.5m for five years, this is about 15-20% of your salary cap on one player

This is a MASSIVE gamble

Waite, Murphy and Gibbs will also demand market value in the future, how do you retain and recruit new talent

This would make it extremely difficult to be a stong list with depth

SD prediction, if Judd goes to a club for these $$$, Judd will not win another Premiership medal under the current salary cap restrictions

Maybe just MAYBE its not about the money!!!!!!!!!.Not in contract come Nov .Maybe the guy will be happy earning a lazy $600,000 a year where he is happy .He seems to be a down to earth kind of bloke.Maybe he would be embarrassed earning twice as much as the guys running up sand dunes with him come January.
