The AFL had no real choice in the matter.. would you prefer Collingwood with a membership of 45,000 to have people shut out of a final while a half full MCG had the Crows v Hawks game on... The AFL has yes as put here followed the money - but also they have accomodated the most amount of fans possible... it seems like the reasonable and sensible thing to do - as much as I'd love to be going to the G for a final this week instead of the dome....
Anyway if Hawthorn had been good enough to beat Port 3 weeks ago or Sydney last week they would have got a final at the G against Geelong this week so they only have themselves to blame with a 5 - 5 record the last 10 weeks when the pressure went on
Cranky ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Morally HW should be at the G
You blame them thier 5-5 record in the last 10 weeks
They beat CO home on the ladder thats the criteria that counts
Not how many bums they get on seats at the G thats GREED
PS CO have about a 5-5 record in the last 10 weeks as well
SO MAL - let me just clarify with you..
Hawks v Crows should be at the MCG with 55,000 people and no one turned away....
Collingwood v Sydney should be at the Dome with 53,000 and 25,000 - 30,000 people turned away??
I don't agree - it's not GREED as you put it, it's just common sense and accomodating the greater amount of people, why have a half full stadium for one game and turn people away from the other?? Makes no sense at all!!
I'll agree that in a perfect world Hawthorn would play this final at the MCG (or bring back Waverley I say - which has 75,000 seating capacity) but the greater good of the game and it's fans (all of them) is to play the game at the Dome and get the bigger drawing attendance at the MCG...
If all else fails are you are really that unhappy - email the AFL and tell them of your concerns...
Port Power has 16 years history at Football Park...
The Port Magpies have 40 years history and the two shall never be confused or combined
