Yawn - is this a cut and paste from your previous cut and paste comments every time Burton comes up Scoob?

What a ridiculously biased and clearly wrong review of a player :?

He is very important to the Crows, despite what any Port Adelaide (or other clubs - mostly Port - as per this thread apart from Booney) supporter says - he was great last week despite having an off night kicking for goal.

There's players I dislike too but I keep my assessment of their playing ability separate.

Just calling it as I see it, there are many players who fit into that catergory too by the way, and I dont barrack for Port power so dont pull the Port hating Crows line on me... I think your opinion of Burton my be bias because you go for the crows

Also i didnt mention that he isnt important to the crows, what I am saying that whilst there are "atheletes" like him playing in the AFL we are missing out on the truly skillful footballers who are deemed to short - too slow to play at AFL level. Who cares if they continuously turn the ball over or misses simple shots for goal... aslong as they can run up and down to ground continuously to flood the oppositions midfield / forward line they are good footballers...

About 70% of players playing AFL these days SS, they get drafted for you atheletic abililty before you footballing skill and smarts these days and i think this has played a large part of where the game is these days... and i dont find it as appealing as the game we knew back in the 80s - 90s.... how many diesel williams and darren jarmans would get drafted if they had to go thru the draft camp?

Fair point, but after wearing number 58 for the eagles reserves and being told he would never make it, Brett has worked hard for his place in the AFL.
His fitness is paramount to his success, not just his athletic ability.
But i agree with what you say, you could probably chuck james hird in that category, brilliant skills, football brain, leadership, but not overly athletic.

Kouta from the Baggers was probably the first "athlete" to really shine on the big stage...IMO he set the precedent...

He might be a tool but Brett Burton can play the game .. Can take a contested mark and kick on both sides of the body (as most players can) so has skill to match his athletic prowess, respect your opinion but reckon you're off base with this one Scoob.

Go Collingwood!

I dislike Burton. Has a wonderful mark, but that is often offset by his skills. Especially his kicking. And occasionally his discipline. Is one of the players regarded as a star of his club, but so often doesn't live up to that standing due to inconsistency.

Burton started in the AFL with bad goal kicking, worked on it and became a great kick for goal, unfortunately he's having a bad run at the moment but wouldn't be the only offender in the team, Edwards was a monty 40 out and can't seem to do much, Thompson hasn't been kicking very well either, Gill's getting better. Each club will have their offenders and each club will have a time when they have trouble kicking for goal. Look at Tredrea years ago, he was a tragic kick for goal and got better but probably having trouble again.
It's great to see you people bag someone just for the sake of it. Be critical sure, but be objective otherwise it's pretty pathetic.

Good start by the Crows, but they've blown it with an utterly sh*thouse 2nd quarter.

FFS, it's gonna be hard work to win the game from here ](*,)

I know I watch a lot of SANFL rather than AFL but isn't 5 min into the second quarter a bit early to start defending your lead???

If that is not what they were trying to do, WTF were they trying to do??????

Lol regained the advantage then blew it again ... VERY ordinary game ... If Crows get done they'll have noone to blame but themselves.
