Probably points more to the harshness of the penalty than the severity of the crime. I think our losing draft picks was too much imo.

Having said that, I'm glad trigg had left

Very noble of him to announce it on behalf of the Crows ... conflicted much?

Kochy is an Eddie Wannabee

And thats a bad thing? Yes eddie is a wanker but so is koshi. But loom at the financial position Collingwood are in and the power they have over the AFL due to there supporter base. Eddie maybe alot of things but he is successful.

and the other thing is that everyone sees Eddie, they think of Collingwood also

so Kochy this morning making an announcement on behalf of the Crows made sure he got his club mentioned and where Walsh comes from.....

Do you think he was the only one at the club that knew about the secret arrangement?

Walsh officially the AFC coach, on a 3 year deal.

Exactly right. Eddie maybe the biggest knob in the game (although that's a hard fought title these days) but Collingwood off the field are in a good position. Massive fan base and that means $$$ and Eddie knows that's what drives the AFL. Hence why they have that power.

Just for those who wont be able to get to a radio at 3pm for the 5AA sports show

it will open with Rowey saying

"the crows got their man'

I do think it is a good appointment for the crows considering the other publically named candidates that were on offer, but was he their main man???

Is the coaching landscape changing in recent years?

Fresh young coaches seem to be falling by the wayside, with experience seeming to be the new black? McCartney, Richardson, Hinkley and now Walsh. Add in Bomber if he goes to Gold Coast.

I think clubs are looking for greater periods of understudyship for potential coaches. Blokes like Goodwin, Dew, Bassett, Francou etc are all likely to get there, but more time is being expected of them in their learning/development period.

None of the guys besides Bomber have been a senior coach before. If you're saying they're experienced and some others are not, Im not too sure how many have been hired straight out of playing to be head coach?

Yeah, still untried though. Just have done longer apprenticeships than some others.

I am happy with the selection. I don’t care if he was ‘their man’ or not. Hopefully his reported tactical ability, solid communication skills and no excuse attitude can see the group move forward.

Contrary to some hater’s opinion, I feel our list isn’t that bad. Reasonably young with a few holes to fill no doubt but the base is there for a new coach to work with. (and no im not saying we are top 4,or premiership favourites etc etc ;) )
