Although murphy and Boyd are old they have so many half backs as it is! Johannisen, wood, etc

Hasnt played half back since about round 7 against Sydney when he had that pathetic one on one effort that resulted in a Sydney goal and a Hawthorn loss

Re: Suckling - it takes a brave player to move away from a successful unit like this.

I've always said those fringe players at successful clubs can be found out going to less successful clubs because it's easy to play well in good sides.

Case in point - Malceski. I love the way the guy plays but his form this year was horrible. Time will tell.

I guess in that case Malceski had a set role in a successful environment with Suckling I believe he is in the 20-28 ranked player bracket at the Hawks if you get what I mean. So for mine Malceski went for cash and Suckling opportunity.

But if he thinks he'll just walk in to the dogs I highly doubt it. Wood, Boyd and Murphy all daylight in front of him in similar positions. And Beverage isn't afraid to not pick players no matter there name or price tag. (Boyd 1m a year and Crameri)

Luenberger has chosen Essendon. Up to Brisbane to match or he comes as a free agent

I completely agree. Hence the decision for mine is astounding. Best of luck to him.

Is it too much to hope his contract is large and we get pick 19 for him?
More than likely it will be pick 38 after our 2nd round selection

He was an unrestricted free agent which means his contract wasn't in the top 25%, correct?

Will be a second round compo so probably in the low 40's

Pretty sure that makes it 38 but i guess it could blow out to early 40s if there is other compo picks, not sure that there will be any though, maybe Brisbanes for Luenberger will push out by 1. Selwoods will be after that probably a 3rd rounder as Geelong wont be paying him much

Scott Selwood to Geelong not matched (Compo 37 but will be pushed back)

Jack Redden to the Eagles for pick 17 will be finalised tonight or tomorrow,
