They get 2 first choice players for an average pick. They pick up Schneider who will do well at the feet or Riewoldt/Kosi and Dempster who's a good tall running defender.

Can't find much to disagree with in this one, seems a good deal for the Saints ... Would Cap space have been an issue at Sydney?

I think that's the case, but surely they could've done better than pick 26!

This is the cleanout I was expecting after 2006, not our premiership year. Let's have a look at who the Cats have let go so far

Callan
Gardiner
King
Playfair

Gardiner, Playfair and King will release some salary cap pressure and Callan wasn't getting a gig anyhow. Geelong have picked up some late draft picks that I believe the club will use to select father son pick Donahue, another forward I believe (ok you got me I don't know that much about him). Most of those guys would struggle to get into the best 22 but I thought King would stay at least.

At least the future has been secured. Prismal and Blake were retained and I hope Tenace is given another chance. Remember this time last year Geelong tried to shop Steve Johnson around unsuccesfully. I'm hoping that Tenace grabs his chance and runs with it.

Good luck with your careers boys....just don't do any damage against the Cats!

regards,

REB

I hope that the saints win the premiership next year only because it will probably be Robert Harvey's last year.

Hudson and pick 43 for picks 30 and 38.

TERRIBLE DEAL AFC.

I would say the opposite, they will do very well for the Saints IMO.

Pick 26 in a shallow draft for a crumbing forward and a running defender/midfielder both in the swans best 22.

Poor trade for Sydney IMO.

Schneider will do very well under Kosi, Riewoldt and Co

Obviously something had to be done - with 1 hour to go !!!

Not a good result but better than nothin cause it looks like the Bulldogs were happy to let it slip through to pre season !!!

Dempster is shite.....he will not be in the saints 22 unless they have injuries
Schneider is a good pick up and pick 26 for him alone would of been good for both parties, so getting Dempster to add depth is a good move by the saints.
