So many what ifs, but what if Carlton weren't gifted that win in Gather Round against Freo. :?

Those who have or continue to knock Port's recruiting last year probably need a rethink.

Sweet has taken the #1 ruck mantle and made it his own and he's leading the midfield really well and Zerk-Thatcher has become very reliable down back locking down on the key forwards allowing Aliir to intercept in a two big man back 6. Both are very much part of the reason we've locked 2nd spot away.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

How's the premiership T-shirt design looking after this morning's meeting?
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Anyone else wondering how Higgins was still out there after getting drilled head first into the turf 15 minutes earlier?

I think its due more to the midfield improving their two way running in the last six weeks making it easier for the defenders to play their role.

The midfielders are getting it forward allowing the zone to push up and lock the ball inside 50 more than we had in the early part of the year making it easier to defend the ground. The mids are working harder both ways but on the back of Sweet and Wines in particular first hands and territory is going our way.

Take Horne-Francis out of the team and Port would be down a few rungs
I've been amazed at his game this year - should poll well in the Brownlow
Add in Rozee and Butters and their games - 2 other exceptional players

Agreed which is the current modern game, get it forward, lock it in, if it gets out, work like buggery to make it dirty ball into their F50, get them on the rebound through change of direction to space.

That midfield is currently being led by Wines and while Butters, JHF, Drew and Rozee ( in that order of impact at the moment IMO ) are all very good players the inside is being held together by Wines. I think our midfield has one of, if not, the best balance.

Yep, backed us to miss the 8 after the GC loss, didn't think we'd win another one but that really means f*ck all, doesn't it?

Sam, probably around the mark here, but it's hard to take him seriously.
Armchair has a better record than Sammy
Matty Wade is a star and deserves more respect from the forum family!
