These are the ones Id be punishing.

So, every player who holds onto an opponent should get suspended or fined? Your happy for blokes to knock out their opponent if they hold on?

If someone holds onto you your natural reaction is to swing your arm to get away from it. Its against the rules and if people learn to stop doing it after a couple of knocks to the chops because the umpires are too useless to pay it then so be it. Fix the cause, not the reaction.

So, if umpires miss a free kick players should sort it out by resorting to thuggery?

Just dont do it, easy.
If a bloke grabs me from behind I'll naturally throw my arm around to stop them, if they get a smack in the chops then so be it, its their fault and they will learn not to do it again.

The wow is that theres people out there like yourself that think him being a muslim has nothing to do with his penalty.
There is absolutely no way in the world that his act deserves only 2 games, had it been anyone else it would be in the 4-5 game range. Dont want to upset the do gooders that get offended on behalf of others

MRP

Postby Jim05 » Tue Jun 27, 2017 10:28 pm

What a farce!
What the hell has his religion got to do with knocking someone out?
Was recommended a 4 game ban and cut to 2 because he played the race/religion card

When the Tribunal handed its verdict down, it said it was "rare" to come across someone with Houli's character.

"My programs that I run target more than 11,000 students that come from an Islamic background all around Australia. I run an academy as well," Houli, a devout Muslim, said earlier in the hearing.

"Our objective is to get these young men into football. If not, (we want to make them) good community leaders."

Not just Hawks supporters. It's quite clear his lenient penalty was due to his background. Quite disgraceful
