You won't finish top 4 this year, you've got at least 3 over 30's to retire and perhaps another 3-4 next year. 2nd oldest list in the league.

No Rising Start nominee since Luke McDonald in 2014. Only 2 debutants this year, Wagner ( last years pick 43 ) and Ryan Clarke ( pick 31 ).

Brought in Waite (33), Dal Santo (31) Higgins (29 in March ) into the side in the last 3 years. Your last two first round draftees haven't played yet.

That's not going forwards.

You seem to have a point boon. However North haven't given away draft picks for those guysm they have still had there first round picks in the last few years. You guys have paid plenty for Dixon and Ryder.

Big difference between picking up blokes in their late 20s/early 30s and picking up blokes in their mid 20s. Especially when you're talking about key forwards or ruckmen. If things went awry and Port needed to rebuild their list a bit, Dixon in particular could still be a part of that. Bringing in blokes like Waite et all are a one shot deal. They either make the difference or hurt your next push.

FWIW I don't blame North at all. Prelims 2 years running gives you every right to feel close to a flag and you take that while you can. But the reality is it looks to have failed and so there's little choice but to run a line through some of those guys unless something changes in the next couple of months.

Ryder is 27 or 28. But Dixon maybe a bit younger I guess. Fair point young Grahaml.

Back to North, Goldstein must be carrying something at the moment. Do you rest him now for a week or so and make a run towards the end of the season and into finals?

Come on North people. Dutchey, Spargo, your thoughts?

His head was down every time he lost a contest on the weekend, looks like a bloke whose body is not doing what the mind wants it to. Yes, he needs a spell.

Didn't see the game on Saturday so can't comment, IMO time for Petire to step aside and give Benny Brown the forward line to himself as he is in career best form and could go to the next level without Drewy up there I reckon. Play Majak and split the ruck duties 50/50 with Goldy.

Our Backline is holding up OK and will get stronger with Hansen due back.

Our Mids are taking a beating due to workloads with our injury list, Wells back in should assist. Would like to see them persist with Dumont.

Win the next 2 which are very winnable and we are 12-6 with some more players due back and things aren't all as bad as the media is currently portraying.

Norths run with injuries is far from bad.

Total cost in points is an attempt to measure the quality of players missing by using their afl player ratings points.

The article also says that north have lost a lot of players mid game, which is true and will hurt. But plenty of north people on here acting like half their best 22 is out.

The far bigger problem with north is that wells and Harvey are still their only players with pace that can break lines. So losing wells hurts more than most.

But also a huge failure of their recruiting team. They did try and recruit Anderson for that purpose too and he hasn't been on the park either

Losing swan Fyfe and roughy puts those clubs at the top pretty easily

I'm assuming Ryder and Monfries aren't included in that.

Doubt it, otherwise Essendon would be clear on top.

Absolute bullshit post.
"Plenty of North people on here" - I'd say there's possibly 4 of us, maybe 5.
"Acting like half their best 22 is out" - where was that posted?
North's injured who have missed most or fair chunks of the season who are in our best 22 IMO
Higgins
Jacobs
Garner
Wright
McDonald
Wells
Waite
Anderson
Wood (6-8 weeks)
For large parts of the year a lot have been out at once. I did post this in the crows thread IIRC before the NM v Adel game.
Numerous times we've lost players during games early which have limited rotations.
I get this happens to many other teams & not once have I used it as the main reason for our form slump the last 5-6 weeks. It certainly is a big part though. Players such as Mullett, Mackenzie, Nahas are only getting games due to others being out, not their own good form.

If McDonald wright and garner are the ones stopping you from losing 6 out of 7 you are in bigger strife than I thought.

Take it up with the afl website if you think the stats are wrong.

Stop twisting things champ. The 3 you named are in our best 22. If they were the only 3 out, we wouldn't be having this discussion - thanks for proving my point.
I never mentioned the stats and no one has proven my injured list wrong.

Higgins wells and Waite are the only ones in the top dozen players. Maybe wood too.

If it's the bottom 5-6 it would have almost no effect.

Maybe depth is your issue as well as a lack of pace?

I'll trust stats from respected sources over your opinion

But Higgins, Wells, Waite & Wood aren't in our bottom 5-6.
Once again, thanks for proving my point.
