More than 50% I reckon. Refusing to bottom out for years hanging on to try and win every game possible, not playing enough young blokes/getting rid of the older blokes and of course despite not being a rich club was the highest paid coach in the AFL at one point who refused to fall on his sword and then the big pay out which meant they wouldn't have the money to spend on a real coach/coaching staff for years.

I hate Port but it even pisses me off how much he screwed over his beloved Port Adelaide.

As compared to how Port have screwed over some of their own in the past.
Not that I know, nor do I really care but I always thought that once the new management style came in at Port Choco was screwed. It seems that there was meddling from the board concerning Footy Ops etc. If I was a Premiership winning head coach and I could see that a disfunctional board was f-ing me around I'd make sure they paid out my contract too!

The mind boggles.

NOT reappointing Choco seemed like a great idea at the time to seemingly everyone except the board.

Then they came up with the great idea for Hardwick to serve a two year apprenticeship as Choco's assistant before taking over.

Amazingly, Dimma says "no thanks" and takes the senior gig at Richmond...

Seems prettty consistent with the baffling strategy the board has undertaken in recent years.

Turning its back on expanding the supporter base policy from the Power's early days.

And alienating/narrowing the existing and future supporter base with all that 1870/Creed/We are Port Adelaide nonsense...

Two things for certain:

1. They are stupid enough to appoint him
2. It will alienate most female Port supporters and plenty of male ones.

It's not easy running a football club as he will find out very quickly.

Early favourite with the bookies to get the job too.......wouldnt read into anything at this stage but i think rocket would be just what port needs, having been involved with sydney and the bulldogs during their re-builds.

 bad info sorry lads :((

i think he is keen on the job, he is a career coach and could see him taking on the challenge should the $$ be right and the support structure and job security be set in stone. AFL house will have a big say in what the next coaches contract says and who it is! Would be a very good appointment IMO

I heard on the grapevine Henleys doing a deal which will see Tyson Edwards sacked at Henly, making way for Eade, a la Ross Lyon at Fremantle...

The rumours and sightings will be amazing over the next few months, I remember when Ayres got sacked at Adelaide how Terry Wallace had purchased real estate in West Lakes and was going to get the job, ect....

Seriously though, they were bloody horrible in 2003 and 2004. Eade took over in 2005 and by 2008 they were playing off for a GF spot. Took Sydney to a GF in his first year as coach so the bloke can do something...

I would have Mark Harvey as the no. 1 target, young and would have a massive fire in the belly.

Dunno about Rocket.

Even Neil Craig would be OK, at least would give the club some structure and no bullshit.
