Should Bocky have told Craig do you think? Would he have gotten games this year if he did? Interesting questions both. With the Cats suiting up for September we'll have to wait a few more weeks yet before we find out the bad news about Gazza.

Interesting if Bock is going how he is treated for the last two weeks.

More so, I thought the AFL put measures in place to ensure no player who had come to terms with the Gold Coast was to reveal their intention before the end of October ( IIRC ). If Bock has, what then?

Always disappointing when a player leaves, particularly in these sort of circumstances where there is no compensation. Despite this, I think he is a player we can cover. His experience will be a loss though given that we will have a very young line up next year.

I don't think he should be considered for selection for the rest of the year now, we have to plan for his absence now.

The Herald Sun is saying he has admitted that there is an offer on the table, but hasn't committed to it yet:

Might not be a done deal just yet.

I've always thought he was ideal for the skipper's role, but have not been convinced he was up to it as a player.
But he turns in the occasional beauty as he did in this match under adverse conditions.
He seems to have the character and heart, and just needs to be more consistent.

So apparently we do get compensation.

I actually think this could turn out to be very good for Adelaide. Whilst you can't doubt his ability Bock is 27 and injury prone. He hasn't been in great form this year either.

Adelaide will finish the year with plenty of $$$ freed up in the salary cap, plenty of vacant spots on the list, and a good pool of talented youngsters to build a quality side from. A compensation draft pick on top of all of this will make Adelaide a big player in this year's trade period. I reckon we will see them being fairly active at the trade table for the first time in Craigy's reign.

Graigy has also said he will be active and that there is massive need for pace through the midfield. Ryan Griffen is out of contract and i think this alows us to make a big play at him. Also needed is a small crumbing forward.

As far as Bock leaving for the GC i have no problems with it. As stated he is 27 few injuries creeping in, Davis in the wings ready to take over and you cant blame a bloke for finishing his career with and extra 200k in his sky rocket. Yes, the loyalty factor comes into it an everyone will be dissapointed because he has left, but he has been honest with the club and left when we are able to cover him and not leave us without a key defender.

Sure, we've had a crap year but we will finish above them AGAIN.

Doesn't mean much except in yearly bets I'm sure many of us have. ;)

So when do you think you will pay up on those bets mate?

The much maligned Brett Ebert may well require surgery to his ACL.It looked to be such an insignificant incident too. I hope not, but if he does I would like to see him follow David Rodan and have LARS Surgery which has proven to be a great success for the D-Rod.

Fingers crossed for Ebo.

Yeah very bad news for mega head and PA who need as many FWD options as they can. You really had to look hard at the vision to see where it happened. Similar to Brodie martins last year, minor twist and pop it goes

Cripes that's bad luck for Ebert. Doing a knee in the second last match of the year!

I love bagging the Cows and the Smears but I reckon both have shown a bit in the last few weeks. Port under Primus have been a much more honest team and the enforced retirement of the old Adelaide guard has thrown up some young players that can really play.

So yeah, you've had a shit season but next year should see some real improvement for both SA sides.

True true REB

Crows still need that pace in the midfield if we can get that we will improve considerably next season IMO

Port have and will continue to be competetaive but it seems they need to sustain therir concentration for longer periods and their results will improve also. New coach and few new/young players will do them the world of good.
