Some bloody good candidates available right now

Those bloody good candidates were on the market before Carr got appointed. Simpson, Longmire, Buckley....they were all there if someone really wanted to head hunt them.

I think there's more changes to come in the coaching panel at Alberton, the SANFL coach rumor is more than that I reckon and there's a former one in the wind too.

I think you missed an opportunity with Bucks.
Longmire needed a break. Simpson is damaged goods.

I think they needed to do due diligence and interview others, how can they be certain that Carr is best placed for the job if there's no application process?

Because the Port Board have always made the correct decision - 10/10 record 8)

In fairness to Port, they planned to have 3 flags by the time Carr started his head coaching career so they were happy to go with some inexperience in the coaching department

Put yourself in Longmire, Buckley, etc shoes.
They've watched Clarkson ruin his legacy by failing to get any traction with the roos list.

Not that Bucks has the greatest resume, but if you're horse, are you willing to tie yourself to the broken wagon that is the port list?

Injury prone forwards
Petulant midfielders
Slow key defenders who cant use the ball
And your best kick off half back walked out of the club 12 months ago.
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!

He'd see that as a challenge

I wouldn't be looking at Buckley unless he's changed his attitude (which I doubt)

My three cents worth.

Martin Mattner gets a gig before Buckley or Simpson .

Preaching to the converted, I'm amazed at how little the mounting losses affect me these days.

Of course, it helps when the teams you follow in other sports rack up the wins.

Not a lot to be positive about at either club this season.

% after round 21

60s - Eagles and Tigers
70s - Roos, Bombers and Port
80s - St Kilda
90s - Carlton, Melbourne, Swans
100s - N/a
110+ - Everyone else.
