Not having a great game on the weekend doesn't make him not up to standard

I'm not basing my opinion on one game, I don't think he's up to it (this is a full stop).

Disagree. You can very much argue the jury is still out, as I do, but there are glimpses.

Seems very composed in traffic, one of those players that looks like he has more time than he does.

Is quick and uses he ball well.

Just needs to develop a tank so he can go more onto the wing or through the midfield.

Pretty similar to how Cameron is tracking imo. Cameron is just a little more advanced

Geez.... the depth issues at the other clubs must be horrific then, if picking Milera highlights the depth issues at the top of the table side!

Depth is an issue at all clubs because Dimwitriou and his money hungry mates dropped the Suns and Giants into nobody-gives-a-shit-ville and took 80 players out of the hands of the other 16 clubs, so yeah, it is.

What it highlights, for me anyway, is the next batch of Crow mids that keep missing out because Milera is getting picked mustn't be progressing that well. Fair?

Not fair at all Boon given Milera plays half forward and he is only a second year player.

The mids we have drafted recently are

2016: galluchi and pohlke. Both first year players
2015: Milera
2014: wigg - not sure why he hasn't played yet. Seems to be going well in the sanfl.
2013: matt crouch and Riley knight
2012: missed our first couple of picks due to the Tippett scandal but got Rory Atkins at pick 81 that year. And brad crouch came in the mini draft the year before but could only start in the 2013 season.

So in summary the only midfielders we have drafted recently that aren't playing regular afl are wigg and the first year players.

I would say our "next batch" are doing just fine.

The interesting one for me is Tom Doedee.

Was a left field selection when we took him at pick 17 and doesn't seem near a debut. Would have thought he may have gotten games ahead of Kelly or keath

Yep that's fair.. or the AFC Coaches see enough in him that they're prepared to wear some ups and downs in the short term. FWIW i'm not convinced yet that he will make it to be a consistent high end performer but i've seen some glimpses that show that he can do some pretty special things.

Obviously they see something in him and yes, I agree, there's moments he looks capable.

I'm also a knock on Hampton who came in, looked good for 5 minutes, then doesn't even get a mention in the selection discussion ( yes, injured at the moment ).

Come on booney, you're better than this one.

He played every game in the first 9 rounds and has been injured since. Had ankle surgery and isnt back from that yet

I agree a little with Booney but Milera isn't in the team as a midfielder and I don't think he will ever been a midfielder in the AFL. Suited to HFF and FP with an occasional run on the wing

I never see him across half forward or deep forward. I am always seeing him through the mid and wings.

I'd forgotten about him & CEY. Wonder how much they could help our midfield

To clarify what I meant with "selection discussions", when Crowies have been talking about best 21, who would be in etc his name hasn't come up as Brouch, Betts, Lever, Hartigan etc have.

Those guys have a realistic chance of getting back in this year.
I suspect Hamptons ankle injury is season ending. suspected it at the time with his foot problems too.

It's probably because he is still listed as a month away, so most crow fans aren't thinking about him for this season.
