I was at the Dome today. It was admirable that Knights stuck with the run-and-gun approach - I wonder how many touch ups it will take for him to revert to something a little more defensive?

the bombers got flogged yes by a well drilled team "Geelong" but i think if they stick to that game iron out a few skill errors and the bombers will hand out a few drumbings themselvs and yes they may get handed a few to but they are young and will learn learn from them.

It is naive of Knights to think he can't tag opposition stars. I also question their fitness.

I also question why Flercher never ever picks up rhe number 1 forward

Again we see a key opposition forward rip Essendon apart, however, Fletcher never gets the job on the #1 forward

This is the reason why I have never rated him as highly as others, because he never picks up a Brown, Pav, Mooney or Fev

Maybe he's not good enough in the coaching panels eye sydney dog, the same reason why you've never rated him as highly as others!

Not too mention he is getting on. Do you beleive he would stay with Fev on the lead. Without doubt at his peak (2000/01) he was the best fullback in the comp but that was 7-8 years ago. Is he past his use by date??

Fletcher is still a good player and was serviceable against the Cats.

Good, quick, free flowing, high scoring game last night, Essendon regrouped after last weeks shalacking & responded the way a side that won't finish in the bottom 4 should.
There may have been a few soft goals both ways last night but lets face it, you see that every week.

Don't like the look of the next month for Essendon, Lloyd, Jetta, Dempsey, Lonergan, McVeigh & not to forget Lucas for the next 10-12 wks, a very young side that can't afford to lose these experienced players.
Last nights game proved how reliant they are on McVeigh, not only for his footy ability but his leadership, it showed they lost direction in the last qtr after a promising comeback after quarter time.
Another challenge for Matty Knights in his first year, i have no doubt he can handle it.
These youngsters now have to step up & become leaders.

yes as soon as McViegh done his hammy the game turned on its head the bombers dropped the dogs lifted and saw a flood of goals in the last quarter its going to be a hard lesson for the younger players to lift when needed but i think it will come over time but i hope not to long. back to the game last night how exciting was it to watch the lovetts and davey cut up the turf up and down the ground i love the style that they have brought into the game good to watch.
