Even I wouldn't have thought he'd be dumb enough to have a crack at his own supporters though.

Also weren't they the ones that voted him onto the board?

Though, it did need to be said.
Guernsey burning, stampeding out the stadium with 20 minutes still on the clock, lose a few games and they want to sack everybody... They act like a club with no history and no trust in process.
The club will never move forward with the pressure they, and the media, put on it. Their success would not have been possible without Port briefly taking the spotlight off them. It's a suffocating atmosphere just being in Adelaide with only two teams, and I follow neither of them. Roo might be correct in telling a few of the turds to buggar off.

Was thinking about it today, I dont know one Crows fan that is happy with the off field set up at the moment, even the pro-Crow 5AA announcers are using their profile to drive an agenda for change. Surely the Crows need to read the room here...

Whilst I don’t disagree with what you have said all clubs have similar supporters when we miss finals. Richmond had microwaved memberships, truck load of horse crap dumped on Carlton’s (?) doorstep

Some ideas

# trade pick 3 and eddie betts to suns for lukosius & rankine
# Get brennan cox from freo CHB
# Move on with brett burton, and other ex-players, need external knowledge, boys club needs to go
# New senior assistant coach from melbourne
# trade jacobs, jenkins, greenwood, cey, hartigan, mckay, keath, atkins
# Future forward line keys lukosius, himmelburg and fogerty
# camporeale to carlton lol
# Make matt crouch captain
# Bryce gibbs needs to stop with the different haircuts everyweek, stop worrying about how he looks, and worry about getting the footy unfortunately have to keep him due to contract

I was under the impression that the Adelaide board isn’t democratically elected by the club’s members, except for a token club member position (happy to be corrected). If that’s the case, Roo can say what he wants without any repercussions to his position. Plus he’s Roo, right, a former club champion, and all fans love him. Paid up members aren’t going to walk away from the club on the basis of his outburst.

Still, RB’s right - it’s a pretty dumb thing to do, because the problem isn’t with the fans (who funnel money into the club and are entitled to pass criticism on its performance) but the people running the on-field aspects of the club. It says a lot when the head honcho makes a statement that essentially admits the club is scared of criticism.

Good cop/ bad cop IMO.
I take this as a sign the club wants to keep Pyke and this is a calculated move to attract attention away from that issue.
As mentioned by Brodlach, the Crows aren't the only club with the odd turd in the fan base who won't flush correctly, but they have the added problem of increased media scrutiny being one of only two teams in a football mad city with a population of over 1.3 million.
Graham Cornes understood the problem well when he reported fake injuries to key players right up until his side was named for their inaugural finals appearance against Hawthorn, all those years ago. I also attribute,in part, the Crows first two flags to the Power distraction.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out, and I obviously have no love for the Crows, but Roo's comments strike me as something that needed to be said, purely because of the atmosphere that develops so quickly when either the Crows and Port are under the pump.
