The problem is that it was your admin who caused this.

They signed a contract that suited them at the time;
1. Because it was all part of their plan not to be too closely aligned to the Magpies to try and capture a new generation of supporter. Lets not forget the club at one point separated themselves from the Magpies, its only been in the last 5 or so years the club has moved direction to the one port marketing strategy.
2. Because they were happy to whatever it took to get in the AFL, same happened with the footy park deal, signed it because the appetitive to get in the AFL was so great and then cried foul when it didn't suit.

The club literally sold their soul for a spot in the AFL...…..pretty much the dictionary description of that saying. Your board would have sold their own mothers to get in at that point.

I find it fascinating that all anger is at the AFL and not your previous board ,members who signed the entry rules to the competition.

After 1990 Port would have been like the episode of Seinfeld when Kramer accepts free coffee for a year as settlement.
Acknowledge your point one and as mentioned that wrong has been made right, does it forfeit our right to our history though? I don't think so.

The game had no relevance otherwise, a publicity stunt.

Yes it does as you signed a contract confirming your history was irrelevant with no end date.

What’s surprise a year after the AFL confirmed you signed your history away. And threatened port with a fine and the loss of premiership points if you attempt to break it.

you are still pissing and moaning the same shit as previously.

Time to move on.

Possibly their greatest player of all time playing his last game for the club. Surely that's enough relevance without all the other bullshit???

I prefer port as one club and having their history but ultimately their reeping what they sowed.

They literally signed away and forfeited their heritage with the magpies so they could be in the bright lights of the AFL.

I can understand why the AFL are holding firm…..when it suited their marketing strategy they were a seperate entity, that marketing strategy failed as proven by the tarp era so they changed marketing strategy to be one club. You can’t just pick and choose what and when your heritage means something to you and expect people to just bend over to that.
