SYDNEY superstar Lance Franklin has brushed aside the significance of his 250th game against Collingwood on Friday night, preferring to concentrate on helping his side to its first win of the season.

Franklin brings up his milestone at the SCG, where he made his senior debut for Hawthorn back in 2005 lined up on future teammate Adam Goodes.

While the triple Coleman medallist acknowledged his own achievement, his thoughts remained solely on the Swans' 0-2 start to 2017.

"It's really special, but it is something I'll look back on when I finish my career," he said on Wednesday morning.

"The main focus for me at the moment is getting the win on Friday night, it really is.

"We've gotten off to a bad start, we were pretty bad against Port (Adelaide), but we were much better on the weekend.

"We've come up against some good teams. Port Adelaide are up and coming and have played some good football, and the (Western) Bulldogs won the premiership last year.

"Collingwood is a very good contested side so we're expecting a big contest."

The Swans will be without Kurt Tippett for the Magpies clash, leaving Franklin and Sam Reid as the team's sole genuine tall forwards, with either Callum Sinclair or Darcy Cameron to come in and lend a hand as resting ruckman.

Franklin said he was confident the Swans had the weapons to kick a winning score against the Pies, especially given the form of Reid who has kicked nine goals from two games this year, and could be a chance to have older brother Ben line up on him on Friday night.

"We've 'Reidy' (Sam Reid) marking the ball well and he kicked six on the weekend," he said.

"It helps when he's taking his marks so we'll just see who we bring in.

"It will be interesting to see if he plays on his brother, but it'll be good to see two brothers going at it."
"Fellas, it’s OK to be in pain. It’s OK to hurt. It’s OK to be sad. It’s no longer OK to suffer in silence."

No Tippett? Oh man, that'll hurt.

I'd be nice to my co-workers if I knew I'm on twice as much as them too.

Buddy should absolutely be mentioned in the same breath as the greats.

Could take the game by the scruff of the neck like no other in the past 20 years.

Seeing him wheel around onto the left from 60 really is one of the iconic images of our sport

Yep Carey the best, then Ablett, Lockett and further back Dunstall.
I would have Buddy just behind Dunstall.

I was actually talking about Buddy's goals highlight package, but I do agree - Carey hands down is the best I've ever seen.

Ablett for mine, genuine freak that could kick 5 in 5 minutes, could go on the ball if needed too.

No confident at all...

People bag him a lot but he is a big out, just have to see what happened to us after he went off last week. along with several more!!! ANOTHER debutant. 5 already this season...
Even more concerning for me other than Tippett being out is the form of Hannebery and Parker! Those two are due...

Tonight we must (and on paper should win) win because we can't go to Perth next week 0-3...

It's actually good to see Tippets's balls drop since moving to Sydney, spent too little time in the ruck at Adelaide and has really added another feather to his bow, or bow to his feather.....................you know what I mean, gotten better.

Excellent read. Would be extremely tough to be in the top couple of percent ever at the sport you love and still be "not good enough"

I think it's often forgotten how much of an achievement it is merely to get drafted
