Beech, lovely fairy tale, but not up to AFL football, Milera works one way, Otten a liability when the ball hits the deck, is Walker still the best captain in the AFL?

Agree with everything except the knock on Tex. That award was voted by his piers, not anyone else. In saying that, he's not playing like a good captain at the moment.

It's a knock on the captains, wasn't Walkers fault he was picked. Selwood is the best captain in the competition without question. When the chips are down Selwood can be relied upon.

I've seen them both live. Swifty goes harder and is a natural leader.

A Graders dont drop the marks he was spilling last night. Adelaide's body language looked the same last night as it did against the Eagles late last year, like they knew they were in trouble, and the crowd sense it and go in their shell too instead of lifting them when they most need it.

I think the Crows lose their courage to take the game on when their opponent clamps down on them, and they need to find a way to take the game on more. Hawthorns workrate was outstanding last night too and much better than the Crows, working back hard and then pushing forward just as hard. The fact that a bloke in his 4th or 5th game looked the most likely means coach Pyke ought to be giving a few of his senior players a fair kick in the pants.

Agreed, does Pyke have that in him though?

More so, do the modern day "teacher" coaches have it in them.I mean if you asked me would I prefer a spray from Bolton, Pyke or Fagan over Worsfold, Eade or Clarkson I know which 3 I'm sitting down eye to eye with.

Poor, playing injured IMO. Had a fitness test just before the game against Geelong

Cheers. Does he need a week or two off to get himself right? Playing with an injury isn't helping anyone.

June form will count for nothing.

Except to get to the GF you have to be able to win a close tough contest like last night...

Watching the game last night I was particularly disappointed with Matt Crouch. He racks up possessions but doesn't do a lot with them even when he is not under pressure. In front of us he demanded the footy in the back pocket, kicked it back to the player he got it from, got it again, kicked it back, ran to the goal square to get it back and then kicked it to a Hawks player who went back and kicked a goal.
I know Thommo hasn't the leg speed but his decision making and delivery is far ahead of Crouch, maybe time to give him a recall and help Sloan out.

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

usually I would agree with you on M Crouch, but I thought he was better last night with his disposal

White in for Broadbent who rolled an ankle on Wednesday and couldn't complete the Captains run this morning.
