Lost the game but some good signs. Smarter, older heads of North and Goldy too good. Liked McGovern up forward. He had a chance to win the game but didn't happen tonight.

Swan's last game? Long road back from syndesmosis surgery.

If Witts gets ******* picked over Grundy again Bucks can go **** himself.

Is Travis Cooke the most overrated footballer EVER?

I dont think he is overrated. I think its just a case of he used to be good a few years ago and now isnt

They didn't win it mate, lets move on. As I said a 19 year old kid had the chance to win the game, but didn't! Could be a different story for him in coming years....

Bad luck, top game and obviously not good enough right now.

Both a frustrating and exciting display for the Crows. Foot skills even worse than last year. Taylor Walker should be one of the great kicks, but why he insists on making the simplest kicks as hard as he can is beyond me. Loads of errors and poor decisions but the way they moved the ball and the workrate were both excellent. Ultimately a game that should have been won. Throughout most of the game they were on the verge of breaking North open, but North kept plugging away. All they needed was that short burst in the third to keep their spirits up and our lack of polish just meant we could never land that killer blow. Goldstein excellent in the last quarter.

Lever is going to be a star. McGovern and Milera both looked at home too. Thought Cheney was fantastic too. He's a small-mid defender and when he plays that way he does everything you want. Intercepts, spoils, calm under pressure and uses it well. I know he copped a lot of criticism but I think mostly because he spent years defending the big guys in the comp in undersized defenses. Now that he's got Talia and Lever around him he can play his game, but when needed he can make a contest against a big bloke, as happened a few times tonight. We need more from Jacobs in the ruck, plus a heck of a lot of polish in the kicking department, but no reason to think we can't make finals.

Maybe mate. That's the beauty of the game. Winners are grinners. Hawthorns time to be absolutely shithouse will come again and no doubt you'll be a bit more quiet then.

Nathan Van Berlo... what a waste of space. Needs to be permanently demoted to B grade.

A terrible injury for Swanny. It looked like a break straight away. He's a tough bastard though so he got up and walked on it. He's probably the last of the "old school blokes" that will ever play the game..a hangover (pardon the pun) when a punter might be good enough to play league footy and wasn't that fussed on "the life".

He would be a Pies player that most fans would like so I hope he can don the Black and White and go out on his terms but I reckon he's in a bit of strife. That injury just sucked the wind right out of Collingwood's sails tonight and there wasn't much in there to start with.

Regards,

It's embarrassing that he's still playing in the Crows best 22.

Yes Van Berlo last night looked very ordinary. When the whips were cracking and there was 50/50 physical contests he didn't put his head over the footy and attack it like you would expect. He was soft on numerous occasions and that's not a word you use for many AFL footballers.

Great game of footy, this new interchange capping is seeing some great results already I reckon!

I tend to agree, I feel we will be that side this year that plays well but loses the close ones. We could be 2-6 after 8 rounds and not be playing all that badly but season pretty much cooked there. Some good signs but you can tell that our structure minus Dangerfield will take some time to get there. Thompson looked a bit slower and from the TV we looked as though we lacked voice, the amount of times players were run down, one from great NM pressure but we held on to the ball too long also. Goldstein is a gun and so important to that side!

Crows might need to pay over the odds in the off-season to add a gun midfielder if they can, seems a glaring hole there with PD's departure and Thompsons aging legs. If they have the $$ I wonder if they could make an offer that can't be refused to someone like Heppell (probably pie in the sky stuff, but the point still stands they need more midfield class)
