If we think Tippett will walk to the Gold Coast in 2013 regardless of what we can do for him in the meantime then maybe we do need to cut our losses and take a good deal if it is offered.

Personally I think all this speculation is just Rucci selling news again. He's caught wind of some point of fine print in Tippett's contract and now he's milking it for all his worth. I reckon Tippett's here for the long haul personally.

Pretty happy with the Johnstone trade as well by the way. As Pat said, have done well to cover the walkouts I reckon.

Yes, TBH, from what I can gather between the lines Brisbane won't be offering us the sort of deals that are being speculated. I heard on 5AA yesterday a porposed trade of Tippett for Redden and pick 8. Maybe Redden OR pick 8 but not both!

Yes, that sounds like a win for us. Some Sydney fans are questioning his work ethic but 90% are really disappointed with the trade from their perspective.

The Johnston trade is a massive win for us. Don't rate Armstrong at all, and we gained a promising, SA born forward with strong hands and a good kick. Perfect replacement for Gunston.

Adelaide have had a great week! :D

If Adelaide were offered the world for Tippett as has been suggested, they would need to secure an experienced or mature ruckmen either in trade week or the draft as cover for Jacobs.

Is there such a player anyone can think of either on an AFL list or in the SANFL? I would imagine they would have to fit in with Adelaide's recruiting mould, ie under 24.

I can only think of the 2 Brisbane boys that got delisted, one of them may get offered a rookie spot as ruck cover but would doubt they could hold down the number 1 position should Jacobs go down. Should Mark Blake get delisted he may be worthy of a rookie spot also.

Wonder if they look at Sutherland from centrals or Judd Robson from port magpies who are ruckman and are 200cm plus.

The rest of the year was very solid. Really only played the one bad game this year...just happened to be the grand final. I think a rookie spot would be a good option

I think the Crows have done very well in Trade Week.

Out: Gunston (Haw), Maric (Rich), Armstrong (Syd) Davis (GWS)
In: Brown (Norwood), Johnstone (Syd), Lynch (St.K) and Crouch (Vic - not until 2013), Josh Jenkins (Essendon)

Sounds like a good lad.

Loved this line, he has a good sense of humour

"The Beaufort Crows (where he played last year) wear the same colours as Adelaide,” he said.

“I said to the Adelaide boys (recruiters) when they picked me, ‘I’ll save you a bit of money on socks and bring some of my own over’.”

Yea I loved that one too.

Also liked what he said about the 'go home' factor as well. Interesting that Patty Dangerfield was the one doing the selling for the AFC as well, hopefully indicates that he doesn't intend to go anywhere anytime soon.

Reality is country VIC is not that far from Adelaide at all. Only a few hours drive really.

Agree with that. I would make Patty captain for next season and hope that would make him a one club player.

Regarding Tippett and given he doesn't seem to be interested in staying at the club... I would have offloaded him this year even if he was undervalued. If you've got players who don't want to be there... why spend all of 2012 begging him to stay... cut him free now and get someone else up to speed

I know its hard but its better in the long run, I think, when you are trying to build a club culture of people who at least want to be part of the journey (I know players don;t "play for the shirt" any more)

It amazes me how people seem to 'know' Tippet doesnt want to stay? How do you know, he has never said he wants to leave and Trigg has denied that wench Carros made up 'out clause'! If he wanted to leave, why not go when GC had all the cash to spend?

Agreed FS. He must get seriously sick of all this speculation, he'ls continually made out like a bloke who's just looking for an excuse to leave.

It seems that any player from interstate with reasonable talent will be forced to endure continual BS about a move home. Even Dangerfield copped it a bit this week.

I think some supporters get caught up in the thrill of trade week and just want to read the big trade story.
