Geelong received 112 votes. While it is 6 more than last year, it is still 4 short of the record set by Essendon in 2000.

Awesome effort by Cooney, a fantastic footballer (who incidentally I backed pre-season the last 3 years but not this one  ).

As with another poster above, I was hoping like hell Richo got the job done in the last round.

As another aside, thats the most exciting count I can remember in a while (lol might say more about my memory than anything else).

That was arguably the best Brownlow acceptance speech I've heard - esp from a guy who just made it through yr 11. Thanked all his junior/feeder clubs too which is an awesome effort.

Wow, must admit Im suprised.
Thought that Mitch Hahn would get the 3 votes in Round 21 and Im also suprised he got 2 votes in a losing team against Brisbane. Its funny how some players get 3 votes for 28 possessions when others dont get any votes for 29 possesions.
Well done Cooney, a lad from up my way! :D

Well Done Cooney but still don't rate him as one of the best 10 players in the AFL.

And can someone tell me how Adam Goodes doesn't get a single vote when he kicks 8 goals from the middle and J Bartel doesn't get a single vote when he gets 37 possessions??!!

It's best & FAIREST

that's why pre-count predictions can go badly off the rails ... everyone forgets the "fairest" part and, even if they didn't, there's no way to know how the umps rated "fairness" on the day. Rating "best" is a lot easier.

Back on topic ... well done Adam Cooney =D>
