2 highlights were Tippett and Mackay again - both lads must play round 1 !!!

agree on tippett but mackay he played about 10 mins didnt he ? i thought he and campbell spent most of the game on the pine ?

Mackay probably had more game time than that - im sure he played in the third and 4th.

I prefer him to Doughty !!!
It is what it is !!!

I propose that it's the most overrated bit of silverware going around.

Well done the Saints, I think they'll do well this season, and well done the Crows for fighting it out, but realistically there are only about 6 or 8 teams fighting for the trophy, the others are treating like it is, a warm up for the real thing.

I agree with ya mate, but if i was a responsible person of a club, the silverware wouldnt be my objective, the $300k + prize money would strive me to put my best side on the park. What club dosnt need it, it either pays a season for one of your top 5 listed players or helps towards the developement of 5 of your kids.
Mickey Mouse cup it is, but if i had a 1 in 15 chance of winning $300k, id buy a ticket :D

I would too, but not if it's to the detriment of winning the bigger prize at the end of the season.

Adelaide fans should be concerned this season , Neil Craig threw everything including the kitchen sink at St kilda on saturday night to win the NAB cup and still wasnt able to score enough goals at home and knock over a under manned St Kilda.
Craigs defensive game plan and lack of goal scoring ability up forward will see Adelaide finish outside the 8 in 2008 .

Adelaide should be looking for a new breed of young coach with new ideas , craigs defensive game plan and unwillingness to get involved at trade time will see the crows go no where until he is replaced .
What i dont know about football isnt worth knowing .

All the people on here that are whinging that only 26000 went to the game on saturday have to remember it was 40 bloody degrees. but the big point on the crowd is and the afl are wankers i heard on SEN the other day that if the game was in melbourne all MCC members and AFL members in melbourne would get free entry even if it was at telstra there are 95000 mcc members and another point is that for Saints members it would have been 15 dollars if it was in melb. but adelaide has to pay full price again. So thats why you get bigger crowds in melb.

Im with JOKER on this one

Crows were offered up to $500,000 to transfer the game.
Thats more or nearly more than the prizemoney for winning the final !!!

Well done to the Crows for playing to win rather than taking the guareneed $$$$.
Playing the sport.
Not for the cash.
Unlike the money hungry expliots that are seemingly taking over world cricket in India shortly.

What message did the $$$$ hungry AFL send to the football public trying to
almost stoop to bribery to get the Crows to agree to a transfer to T/DOOM.

Fairness and sport was the winner [even though the Crows lost]

One more question
Had the Crows taken the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
went to T/DOOM
and lost
imagine the flack the club gets from its supporters and non supPORTers
Crows would be branded money hungry losers

Bottom line is the crows and the media pumped this game up as a way to show the victorians that they can pull a crowd and still only got that many. Dont throw it back on anyone else apart from the supporters

Bottom line is sanity has prevailed
AC had a percieved home game grand final advantage and wanted to have that advantage

Sport was the winner
Who gives a rats arse about the crowds
its about winning a game of footy for the club and an obligation to most of its supporters

I agree mal, i'm not a Crows fan, but its commonsense that the club that deserves the home final should get it. Crowds shouldn't come into it at all.

You are missing my point. i dont barrack for either team. All i am saying is that the media and club bagged the crap out of the AFL for suggesting it be moved and said it was a great chance to prove the victorians wrong. Show that you could pull a bit crowd and that is all the showed up.

Why should'nt they bag them? It's a form of bribery.Well done to the Crows for not selling out, look after their fans, not that the Crows need money anyway but the moral factor is the main point.

Agreed simply put crows fans carried on like pork chops when it was suggested to be played in Melbourne.

Eventhough you knew it was going to be hot , fringe and the festival was on (all this info clearly known before Saturday night). If you didnt stamp your feet so much. You wouldnt of given Walls so much ammunition.

As mentioned before instead carrying on like the biggest victims ever. Try a little thing called forethought next time.

i dont think it matters where they played the final. the croweds were always going to stay away with the weather and the long weekend and not alot of interest in the preseason cup doesnt make for good viewing. bring on the season proper and the crowds will come back.(not to mention a bit cooler weather)

It does not matter where it was played. When we beat Collingwood it was over there and there was only 33000 people there to watch it. Not bad for a club with the biggest supporter base in Australia
