I think thats the young Qld lad the Swans got through some special rule or something. Had played very limited footy as a junior, if its the guy i'm thinking of.

just heard on sports tonight here in canberra that ben cousins suspended from the AFL for 12 months.

also from the afl website:
FALLEN West Coast star Ben Cousins has been suspended for 12 months by the AFL Commission after a marathon eight-hour hearing in Melbourne.

Cousins was found guilty of bringing the game into disrepute.

But the AFL has thrown the Brownlow medallist and former Eagles captain a lifeline, saying that he can nominate for the 2008 AFL National Draft and possibly play in 2009 and beyond if he complies with a range of conditions.

I don't really believe you can build a winning team on drunks, druggies, and crims - except perhaps in WA! [And even there it comes unstuck in time..]

I didn't say it wasn't, but are they consistently winning clubs or is their form unreliable!??? Sporting clubs have always been venues for immature behaviour - in fact in some it has long taken priority over the sport.

It is predictable that those on any site who are into drunkeness or drugs will have a go at me when I post things anti their way of life - fine go for it - but they should review the thread 10 years or so down the track and look at how much of their life they have wasted. [If of course their brain still works well enought to permit reading..]

Poverty is caused by substance abuse and gambling more often than by "the system".
