Eagles have declared, no players, only high draft picks

almost mission impossible for Judd to get to the Pies, and if they do snare him, they would of traded young quality players that got the club to the top 4 this year

Interesting that the two clubs that Judd has said he won't go to are St Kilda and Hawthorn, the clubs that picked before West Coast in the 2001 draft. Perhaps just a coincidence but .............
Was brought up on the weekend that supposedly Judd wasn't happy with the treatment Hawthorn gave to Steven Greene, who you may remember was a father/son selection a few years back of past premiership player Russell, when they delisted him.

Did anyone else see in the paper (I think it was the Herald Sun) that a punter tried to put $25,000 on Judd to go to the Dees!! Apparently the Bookie wouldn't take any more than $2000 per person so then the punter's family then proceeded to place $2000 bets each!!!

Does he know something that the rest of the public don't???? 8) 8)

Pick 4 is the certain part of the deal then it gets hard with any of Bruce, TJ, Green and a couple of others may be up for grabs (Possibly even McLean) but just depends on what WCE want. if they want 2 early first rounders then Melbourne may have to trade with someone else as well, but if they want a player and a early first rounder they might be able to get the trade done.

I reckon pick 4 plus a couple of young guns such as Nathan Jones and Matthew Bate/Lynden Dunn.

Chris can announce who he his preferred club is though. If he says Melbourne then thats who WCE will deal with. Doesnt need to be trade week to announce that.

Unlikely

He is being groomed to be their key forward once Neita gives it away, I would say he would be one of the blokes they will definitley be keeping.

you all had very good mail welldoneTHE courting of boon recruit Chris Judd by Melbourne-based AFL clubs took another dramatic twist on Monday, with the champion midfielder advising the Demons he would not be joining them in 2008.

The out-of-contract Eagle notified Melbourne Football Club chief executive Steve Harris, expressing the club’s poor training facilities as a reason for his decision.

Harris said, however, that the Brownlow Medallist was “somewhat surprised” by the quality of the Demons’ presentation and strategies.

“… the club's training facilities at Junction Oval, and the need to train at a variety of grounds over summer, was an issue.” Harris told melbournefc.com.au.

“It's well known that new state-of-the-art facilities are due for completion at Olympic Park within two years, but we do have this comparative disadvantage.

"While it is very disappointing that Chris will be playing elsewhere next year, the club ought to be quietly satisfied that it had got itself from being a rank 'no hope' outsider to being very competitive in the pursuit, and ahead of many clubs who failed to even get his attention,” Harris continued on melbournefc.com.au.

"This outcome will only sharpen the need for the whole club to work together to ensure we have fully competitive facilities and resources.

“With a new coach and new football manager, a healthier playing list and with pick four still in our hand, we have plenty of reasons to look forward to the 150th anniversary year in 2008."

If Chris Judd ends up at Collingwood you might as well throw out the trade system. Blokes could only really choose where they went before the trade and draft system.

Does not want to go to Melbourne because of the training facilities.

Well if this is the case Collingwood have him.

I really do not want to see Chris Judd at Collingwood.

He wants to go home to Melbourne to live well he has taken the punt he could end up anywhere. I still think Carlton will end up getting him by using pick no.3 and pick.18 or 20 of whatever it is they have. Good luck to Carlton. I hope they get him well I hope anybody else apart from Collingwood get him. Also West Coast would not want to stengthen Collingwood either if they can not help it.

Even if Judd choices Collingwood, I can't see how the Pies can come up with the right deal to satisfy the Eagles...

the Eagles have said they will not accept players, they would want two top 10 picks, which the Pies do not have, unless they trade some very very good young players

Carlton, Melbourne, Essendon and Melbourne have already declared they will not trade their first round picks to the Pies

It will be good to see all of this come back to bite Judd on the ass. It's ok for him to say he wants to go to Collingwood or where ever, but he cant go to a club and say "I wont play for you next year". Its up to West Coast, not little Juddy. Id love him to end up at Melbourne in the draft!
