Yes he mentioned it last night but what i'm saying is Crouchy told the club he needed surgery some time ago and to be told by the club they did not think this was the case, put it this way if he had surgery when he first stated to them he wouldn't have been far away from resuming.

this may be completely wrong but it's what i was told.

Things going from bad to worse on the injury front at AFC.

As a result of that collision with Douglas late in the showdown, McGovern has reported high ankle soreness and is now out for 2 months.

Bloody hell!

They'll still play finals. If they can get a fit group up and running by then they'll still be a threat.

Apologies if it's already been posted.

But heard a rumour that this preseason camp has actually been downplayed. It was an extreme military style SAS type deal where one player came back with scars over his legs but wasn't allowed to say how he got them

Several senior players complained internally. Details released by E.Betts which has caused a significant riff between the Betts camp and the Walker camp.

Take it for what it's worth which is probably about 5c, but it is interesting.

Maybe i am old school but I have no issues with a military style camp, the kids these days need toughening up! Clubs will not put there players in any unreasonable harm, they cost to much money!
If it was that bad the AFL PA would have heard about it (like Melbourne's camp) and they would have provided commentary around it.

Walker and Knight to both miss some games.

Walker ( try this on for size @MW @Brodlach @bennymacca ) to miss an undisclosed time frame to "enter into a conditioning program".

You happy getting spun bullshit?

Knight is hamstring tendinitis. 10?

Wasn’t it Chapman that came out in the preseason and stressed that supporters can rely on the club’s reporting of matters and not the media’s? 8)

Who cares if they say 2 and they miss 4.

Clubs have been doing it for decades, saying this player is fit and playing and then pulling them out just before the game.

Why give clubs any more time than necessary to plan etc.

It seems to be only the media and opposition supporters who really care.

I think the media were about 0-5 this week anyway. (Especially Campbell Brown)

So you're not fussed by them pissing in your pocket and telling you it's raining?

I would be, especially when there's a problem evident ( hamstrings ).

The club came out 2 weeks ago and said they have modified there program to try and rectify the hamstring injuries. Do you come out after 1 hamstring? 4? 5? When is it an evident problem? When the media says it is?

I suppose you would have been angry that Port said Wingard would miss a few weeks with a hamstring then returned after 1 week, that was misleading!
